Can anyone tell me a bit more about getting your disney reward dollars off the card? Do they issue you another card with disney money on it to be decucted each time you spend it, or do they send actual disney dollars, or something totally different? I have about $200 built up on mine and will keep building more until our trip this Nov., but didnt know exactly how you get them and how long it takes to receive them in the mail. Thanks for the help. :cool1: :rotfl: :3dglasses

Not sure about how long it takes to receive them in the mail, but you will get a card. It is like a credit card but it says Disney Rewards on it. You can apply a payment towards your room account with it (if you are staying at a Disney hotel) or you can just use it in the parks and resorts like a credit card until it runs out.

You have to call the rewards # on the visa card. They issue you a rewards card and mail it to you It takes about 3 weeks to get thet card. After that you just call and get your new rewards put on that card its easy. I got mine about 6 weeks before my trip and just called to get the next months rewards added before i left

You will get a separate reward card with your stored points/dollars on it. Make sure you order it with enough time to get the card before you leave for vacation but not too early because you don't want the card to expire before you use all your points. You use it just like a credit card at WDW - it is really simple. You can also add additional points/dollars on by phone and when you do, the additional value is available immediately. Came in really handy one day when I forgot my wallet on a trip to the MK but had my rewards card in my lanyard pouch. I just called the toll free number and within minutes I had spending money! :flower:

Let me see if I am understanding you guys correctly. I can call now and get the card (without my points on it) and keep it until I am ready to transfer my points? Is this the only card that I will ever get from them (do I reuse this card) or do they send you a new one the next time we go to Disney and I want to get more reward dollars? I appreciate your help. This part of my trip planning is new to me. :flower:

You keep the card and reuse it when I ordered mine I had points put on it I'm not sure if they issue it without points. Also keep in mind once you put points on the card they expire in about a year so only put points on that you know you will use They are really nice and helpfull when you call

Can I add another question to this topic? When you call to add more rewards to the card you already have, do you speak to a live person or is it automated? The reason I ask is because our account is in my dh's name. I have a card with my name and he has a card with his name, but the acct is his name. One time, I called to do something (don't remember what) and they wouldn't give me any info since I was not the "primary accountholder". I take care of all our finances and was just wondering if I can do it all automated instead of trying to get him to do it. Didn't mean to steal your thread-just thought it was related.

Dont worry eeyoreforever- your not stealing my thread. That question is a good one, because I also take care of the finances, and run into that problem a lot. I get so frustrated with operators that wont help me because I am not the "primary" cardholder. Hopefully that wont happen with Disney's Bank One Rewards. Thanks for adding to the thread. :flower:

I'm pretty sure I spoke to a real person when I added more rewards but I cant swear to it. I'm the primary card holder so I cant answer that Question

For me the easiest way to order the Reward Card was online. No waiting on hold. The initial card took a couple of weeks to arrive but now I can just add points to it (also online). The points are added instantly. I will use this same card for our trip in May and then let points build and order a new card next time. Don't order a card unless you are going within the year. Once points are transferred to a reward card they expire sooner. It's easily done online and they explain it well.

I always seem to post the same thing on these threads but....
if you do not have time to receive the card before you leave you can go to Guest Services at Downtown Disney and get it there. They have the cards at Guest Services and a phone there that you call a "real person" and they ask for your card number and they load it while you are on the phone.
I think the hours must be pretty convenient as I called 11:00 pm on Thanksgiving night and got mine done.
I then went straight to The Disney store at DTD and shooped away.

M&MsMom - THANK YOU for that info! I don't think many people know that. Although we know way in advance when we will be going and can order our card and bank our points, you never know! And I sure as heck want to use allllllll points possible on our next trip!

To the various questions:

1. I don't think you can get an empty card - they will send you your card when you want to do your first transfer.

2. I've done transfers on line and automated (online is the easiest before you get to the park).

3. I'm seconding the person who warned about only transfering what you need. I'm sure the $200 will go pretty quick in WDW but you lose anything unused after a year+ (if you get a card now you'll have until Dec. 2006).

When you initially order your rewards card, you must put a minimum of $20 on it. When you go to add to an existing amount, you must add a minimum of $10.

If you don't have a Disney Visa yet, go to www.50disneyrewards.com. You will get $50 free put on your card just for applying and using your Visa once.

They need to speak to the primary cardholder if you call to order your Rewards Card, but if you go online and order it you don't have to be as long as you know the primary cardholders information. You can order your card now, and then transfer any new rewards to it before you leave for your trip. If you do it online, it transfers instantly.
We came back from Disney with an empty card and a few week later I had $18.00 in rewards, I transferred it online and was using it on DisneyDirect.com 2 minutes later. Worked great.

:mickeybar :mickeybar :wave2: Thanks for all the info. on getting my rewards card. We wont be going until the week after Thanksgiving so I guess I will wait until October and order it. :mickeybar :mickeybar :wave2:
