Disney Rewards points

I tried to use the remainder of my points on my card to purchase a gift card at our local Disney store. The clerk said that is no longer allowed.

I've seen a few posts on here that say otherwise. Has anyone RECENTLY been able to purchase a gift card with the rewards points?

If I'm not able to do that, I will probably just use it to purchase a park hopper for our next trip but would prefer a gift card for more flexibilty on a package..

I don't know if it's allowed at the Disney Stores, but if you go to disneyland.com, to their tickets/packages section, and go to Gift Cards, you CAN use your Disney reward dollars redemption card there:

Disney Rewards® Redemption Card More Information

If you would like to use your Disney Rewards® Redemption Card, please select the Disney Rewards® Redemption Card payment option. Any remaining balance may be paid with a credit card.

They don't seem to have an option to just get an exact amount, rather they seem to go in 5s starting with 25, but it's more along the lines of what you want, so maybe it'll be a good option for you.
