Disney Reward Dollars before cruise?

I will have over $600 on my Disney Rewards Card that I will apply to my shipboard account. Can I do this before the cruise starts. Frankly, I don't want to carry that card with that much around with me. If I lose it, I'd be bummed. Can I send the card to my TA and have it applied before I leave? Or, do I have to wait until I get on the ship to apply it to my account?

You should be able to call & apply it to your shipboard account now.

Does DCL then send a receipt? Even if I booked through at TA? I did send a message to my TA, but have not heard back, yet.
