Disney Resorts Room Decor

We got to stay at one of the new Villas at the Poly on our last trip and while it's not in your face Disney, there are little subtle/hidden hints of Disney all over the room. You just have to be looking for them. I personally thought that is was beautifully decorated.

The Royal Rooms at POR have some nice Disney touches. Also the VGF the pictures on the wall lots of nice Disney tributes. But I agree some resorts getting a bit cookie cutter.

Disney is theming the outside of each building and perhaps the lobby area. But the rooms, including the DVC villas, are going generic.

Does anyone know of the greenish paint color used in GFV bathrooms? Trying to figure out the color of it.

People other then myself are noticing this gradual generificafion of Disney deluxe resorts which is troubling. Like what was described above at the YC and BC. Not good. Imagineers and design executives need to stop worrying about competing with other plain hotels and stick to traditionally Disney traits we all know and love, not to mention pay for
Amen.

I've noticed this too, and even considered starting a thread on it. Disney resorts and the rooms in them are supposed to take you to another place or time period. I don't feel the new rooms accomplish that. They all look the same now with plain white bedding and laminate floors. The new refurbs look the same across the board from value (Pop) to moderate (Coronado) to deluxe (Yacht Club.) I find it all disappointing and much prefer the more themed rooms. That was part of the draw for staying on property for me.

I'm booked at the YC CL this July. I think the new rooms look awful, so much so that I wanted to move to the BC. The discount is better at YC unfortunately. I don't understand not putting carpeting in the rooms, I think it makes them look cheap. I know it's easier to clean but from an aesthetic point it looks cold. I don't think that it looks like a room that would justify paying over $600 a night rack rate. I mean look at the rooms at the four Seasons, they are beautiful!

They rest of my family thinks it look nice, I definitely think it will affect my trip. I guess I'll just have to spend more time at SAB.

I like the wood look and hate carpet. If you have ever pulled up carpet to replace it makes you gag a little. Just think of all the not so clean people that have stayed in those room and the disgusting things like skin, nails, pee, boogers etc, that is stuck in the carpet. No thanks!!

I also like that the rooms are not over the top Disney. If I wanted that I would stay at Art of Animation...
