Had a wonderful WDW trip Feb 03 and planning a return in 04. Split stay at AK and Poly, and were fortunate enough to get adjoining rooms with our 2yr and 5yr old's grandparents. Was nice that we could put the kids down and had a place to go unwind. Won't be as lucky in 04, grandparents won't be able to make the trip. Do all Disney Resort Hotels (Other than Vacation Clubs) have suites available? I've looked at Disney's site and couldn't find floor plans other than the standard room. I imagine prices are steep but wanted to get an idea. Thanks for any info!:)

MrBelding, all the deluxe resorts, the DVC resorts, and the CSR resort (a moderate resort) have suites. The pricing may be found on the official WDW website (look under "Room Rates"). I have stayed in suites and villas (GF, AKL, YC, BWV, OKW) and they really are lovely. I have a few photos posted of a couple of the suites that I have stayed in -- click here for my main on-line photo albums. Others here on the Dis have either stayed in suites, too, or have been lucky enough to have toured them and taken photos for all of us to drool over. I'm sure they'll post their links in here for you.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them or to PM me.

Have you considered renting points from a DVC member? We did this on our last two vacations and couldn't have been happier. In fact, my wife and I are currently moving forward with a DVC investment of our own.

On our last two stays, we stayed at a 2-bedroom at Old Key West. Party included DW, toddler son and my parents. Cost of the room was split 50/50 with my parents.

Having traveled during the off-season, the DVC point cost for our 2B at OKW was 22 pts per day, Sunday to Thursday. Points commonly rent for $10 each from current DVC members--some charge a little more, some a little less.

So the effective room rate was $220 per night, which included all taxes and fees. Since we split the cost, my parents and I each paid $110 per night. You'd be lucky to get a moderate for that cost once you factor in the room taxes. Payment was made entirely to the DVC member. We paid nothing at the resort itself.

Rack rate for this room was $479 plus tax per night.

OKW is a fabulous resort. The 2B provided us with sleeping accommodations for up to 8, a full balcony (with LBV golf course view), a full kitchen and living room to share, in-room laundry facilities, etc. We also received the full DVC member treatment throughout our stay--including any applicable DVC member discounts on merchandise and dining.

The point "cost" of a room does increase dramatically on a Friday/Saturday, but you don't appear to be opposed to a little resort hopping. If you go this route, I'd merely suggest hopping to another resort and paying cash.

For more info, check out the dedicated DVC boards here. Or you're welcome to PM me for a couple of references. Both point renters I worked through were very helpful and professional throughout the process.

Mr. Beldig - one more option (if the suites are too steep) is to get two connecting room at the All Stars (two bathrooms!).

We had a one bedroom suite at the YC for our honeymoon. Actually it was more like a 2 bedroom suite though. Had a regular YC room with king bed, with a connecting door to the suite, where there was the living room, little sitting area/bar, then another bathroom area, and separate bedroom with king bed. It was on a corner too, so we looked over the Boardwalk and Stormalong bay. I believe a few years ago it ran around $600/night. Have fun!
