I booked our holiday with Virgin last year, and at the time everyone was fit and healthy and we didn't bother making any room requests. Anyway, with mum just coming out of hospital after 5weeks, finally diagnosed with a heart condition and needing to use a wheelchair, I went to call Disney in order to request a ground floor room for medical reasons.
However, because I did not have the reservation number, I couldn't do it. Disney said that I needed to contact my tour operator, explain the situation to them and get them to make the request on my behalf. Do you REALLY think I'm going to try and get Virgin to do something as simple, and as important, as that????? Er, no way!
So, I'm looking for advice, seeing at all you Dissers out there always seem to have the answer! We have to phone Special Assistance shortly to arrange the carrying of mum's wheelchair, would they be the best people to try and get to sort out the room request - at least they will be based in the UK, speak English and know what I'm on about... I hope!
Or, would it be better to call Virgin and try and get the Disney Reservation number direct from them and then call Disney again? Even if I got the reservation number, would Disney still let me change the booking seeing as I am not the tour operator, although I have the right number?
Any advice/tips/experience on who to call/what to ask for would be gratefully received!!!!
