Anyone ever have an issues with Disney Reservations Centre?

My friend called and asked for the CAA Rate (AAA) and couldn't get it. I called and got the rate...he called and they couldn't find it????

He asked for the AAA rate and even said that his friend got it that day???

I recommended he call a third time and ask agian, it couldn't hurt.

POP at the AAA rate is $84, rack rate is $110 or something so it is a good svaings over 7 days.

Any thoughts...

I would tell him to keep calling back until he gets someone who knows. I had a hard time booking the CAA rate as well. He's probably better off not even mentioning CAA, just AAA, it's the same thing in their system. A lot of the reservationists will say it's not, but I e-mailed Disney, and they told me it is the same discount. If he continues to have problems, tell him to e-mail Disney, as they were going to let me make the reservation thru e-mail if problems kept up (then I would just call back and make a credit card deposit)

We had issues as well getting the rate. The first agent said the rate was not available. The second call I told the agent I knew it was available and she put me on hold while she tracked it down. She found it after quite a search. I was told that a few discount codes are on her screen for the time she puts in - any additional codes she needs to get from her manager as they are constantly changing. Be persistant and they'll manage to find it! FYI if you are booking a special offer - you might have to choose between one discount or another - you cannot combine.

There is a few reasons why the CAA rate wasn't available:

1) some Disney operators may not know CAA is the same as AAA (as the previous poster advised). Always ask for an AAA discount.

2) there are only a certain amount of rooms allocated for AAA/CAA discounts. If the allocation is full for that night, the discount won't be available - though keep calling back, if someone cancels their AAA discounted reservation, a discounted room may come available

3) the operator was relatively new, and wasn't aware of the discount (though the AAA/CAA discount is very common)

We had told our operator this and she said "I know they are the same - it still is not available"

We called back immediately and amazingly a room appeared! I don't think it had anything to do with allocation of discounted rooms - the first operator was just too lazy to go looking for a code. Yes - I said lazy- and she was rude too! Not something I've ever run into in dealing with Disney reservations.

Frankly- I think it's better sometimes to get a new agent. They like to keep checking with their supervisor to make sure they've done the booking right. And aren't stubborn about checking on discounts.

Be persistant and polite. Call back until you can speak to someone who is willing to go the extra mile to have a happy customer.
