Hi there!I'm wondering if you can help me with a query regarding the Read Along series. I collected the UK cassette versions (Read Along 24 page book and tape) as a kid between 1988 and 1993 (issued by rainbow/Pickwick International). I have listened to some of the old Disneyland Read Along Vinyl recordings online and I believe that they are the same recordings reissued on the cassettes.
Wikipedia lists that there were however newer recordings issued as part of the 1988-1990 cassette releases. I don't suppose you would know how many versions of the audio read along tales were produced between 1978 and 1995 or thereabouts? (I'm aware of the original Robie Lester versions from 1965) I'm pretty sure Bambi, Jungle Book, 101 Dalmations, Mary Poppins (a newer version released in 1997), Alice in Wonderland, Pinnoccio, Counting Fun, Dumbo, Lady and the Tramp all went unchanged between their Vinyl and cassette releases. I think some vinyl and cassettes were even released at the same time such as 101 Dalmations in 1982.
Whether newer releases came about between 1988 and 1995 on the cassettes is bothering me. Would you happen to know? Or do you know where I could ask?
