We're in Orlando RIGHT NOW -- they're calling for rain all day. We did MK earlier in the week in the rain, and it was fun, but I don't think I want to do another day of being soaked.

What's Disney Quest? Has anyone tried it? Worthwhile? Any and all advice appreciated.

If you already have the WP&M, yes - it is great. Not sure that we would add the option just for one use, though...

I wouldn't pay for it again. Let me say up front that my family and I went on a rainy day in august. My cons were this

1) pretty much, except for the virtual reality stuff, it's video games. Which pretty much means 1 kid playing. We go to disney to sort of enjoy things as a family. They have the latest wii games at home.
2) Obscenely loud and chaos. What happened the day I went is that parents of kids lets say 8 and up pretty much parked themselves some where while the kids run around. The feeling is that their inside so not much can happen. Kids were running at top speed on every floor.
3) If it's raining every one else will have the same idea.
4) I thought the best part of Disneyquest was the elevator ride with Genie. Not exactly what I would pay extra for.

Don't have any options -- we had a 3 day pass, and it's used up. We would be buying entrance just for today as it is indoors.

Then you might be better off giving the kids $25 each to spend in the resort arcade...

No, not worth it. I've done it a few times and the only good thing in there is the Buzz Astro Blasters on the bottom floor. I won free passes to it last year and didn't even use them because there's no reason to go back unless you really love arcades :confused3

My girlfriend (23) and I (25) personally enjoy DisneyQuest. It is a nice change of pace from the parks for a few hours. They have some arcade games that I haven't seen since I was a little kid. There is a nice veriety of arcade games, new and old, if your family is into that sort of thing.

My husband and sons (13 & 7) loved it! They want to go back on our next trip. Me-not so much.

Disney Quest is a large arcade. No I don't believe it's worth it. Get on the monorail and go resort hopping and snack along the monorail. Go to the Disney store - downtown Disney and shop.

I didnt care for it, nor did my then 13 yr old daughter..There is no time limit on the games so folks can just play and play and...get the idea? we hardly got to do anything we wanted. still, its not too bad if you have never did it before.

Not worthwhile under the circumstances you describe.

Go when the sun is out, preferably close to its opening time (10 AM?). You will get a lot more done and spend a lot less time waiting in lines.

I love Disney Quest - not only is it great to recapture my childhood (when I was growing up the Arcades were still a big deal.)
But my wife enjoys taking the drawing classes (the classes are free - you only have to pay if you want a copy of your work), and I loved playing around in the create a song - again playing is free, it's only if you want a copy of the song that you have to pay for it.

The virtual reality is cool, as is the life sized pinball machine game.

We paid OOP for it... 2006...

We loved it... (for me...mainly to go for 1st time and see what it's like)...

DS (then 16), DD(then15) and DD(then14) all had a BLAST and would go back in a heartbeat.

I did enjoy the "different" things... games that you will NEVER see in the Resort arcade... #1 thing that impressed me was the "Make your own Roller Coaster ride"...then you actually ride it... (a simulator....they say much like Sum of all THrills at Epcot):cool1:

The 3 teens would all go back in a heartbeat....

I would prefer to join PP...and travel from Resort to Resort...picking the next one to visit...

If this is your first time to DTD...don't miss the other great sites... like the Lego Store...dining, etc.:thumbsup2

HUGS,
Mary

I have wanted to go to Disney Quest for years, never had a chance to because we usually go during Christmas week and with no fastpass for Disney Quest rides, I knew lines would be bad and on this past trip we didn't have time. I guess the problem is the attractions are so low capacity, that it is hard to avoid lines.

Then you might be better off giving the kids $25 each to spend in the resort arcade...

That won't last too long though will it? Maybe an 60 - 90 minutes tops, with how expensive most of the games are.

My DW and I were there in October for the second time (first time was in Nov 2008). In 2008 I was there by myself for a few hours and had a blast! In October, though, completely different story.

A lot of the games were broken but still operational. So, we'd play Donkey Kong or something but one (or both) of the joystick or buttons wouldn't work...so that stunk. The racing games (Mario Kart, specifically) all had off-kilter steering wheels (so, I just went in circles, and circles and...well, you get the pictures). There was only one wheel that functioned normally. I think a few other racing games were like that too.

I sent some feedback to Disney at how disappointed I was (even though I paid for it through my WP&M option) I can't imagine how someone paying OOP wouldn't have complained. They thanked me for my comments...now I wonder if they did anything about it! Its a great throwback to my childhood (not that I'm THAT old), but something else to do when on vacation :)

My kids totally loved it.( 11 and 12 yrs old) my DD loves to draw and got comfortable in the drawing class and planted herself there for a while. My son loved making his own "action figure". They both loved making silly songs and got CD's to take home of them. Make your own rollercoaster was great...I guess if they like arcades as much as mine do it's worth it. Walking around DTD also was a nice change. We're going again in the fall and both kids said they would not want to miss DQ and would forgo something else so we could go there ( like a water park)

I didn't find it chaotic at all, or loud. Had a really good burger there too. It's all in what you expect though. I could see where it may not be as fun for some. It was part of our water park and more option so I didn't know the exact out of pocket price so since it was included I really didn't put a price value on it.

The immersive 3D games are the coolest part. You won't find those ANYwhere else!!!
