Disney Quest-Rain Crowds?

My strategy, after reading about the June downpours, is to keep Disney Quest as an everyday backup, should be buy UHP passes. I figure when the rain comes, just hop over there. But then I am wondering how many have this same vision, and if the crowds at Disney Quest get very bad during the rain. Any experience anyone?

I'm going for the first time next week so I'm no expert but I heard it gets very busy here on rainy days. and of course, rain is predicted on my planned DQ day. We're going early and hoping for the best.

Yep! It can get pretty crowded on a rainy day! We went on a rainy day last December. We didn't stay long! (we had UPH, so it wasn't a big deal) This year I'm going to come up with a different rainy day plan. My ds is 4 and gets up REALLY early. DQ doesn't even open until 11, so we have a lot of time to fill before it even opens!;)

I went to DQ for two consecutive nights back in April. The first was on a Friday in a torrential downpour (the Friday after Easter). This was peak season at Disney so I wasn't sure what to expect. Since we got there at 10pm it was definitely busy but not that bad.

The next night we returned. I was braced for the worst. A Saturday night! Beautiful, weatherwise. We got there about the same time and the place was practically deserted.

So, yes, my very unscientific test points to a very busy DQ on a rainy day. However, realize that the place draws its largest crowd in the afternoon. If you are there when it opens or show up late in the evening, it should be fine rain or shine.

Rainy day suggestions? If you've got a car, Orlando Science Center is one of the best science museums and it's a covered garage and covered walkway into the museum.

Also, it has to be said, if you can hit the park on a rainy day the crowds will be a lot smaller than on a perfect day. Just head out to the parks like Magic Kingdom and Epcot and MGM with plenty of covered attractions (avoid AK). You'll be exposed to the weather between rides, but you have places like Epcot where you can kill a lot of time at Innoventions and Spaceship Earth and Living Seas.

Just wanted to second the vote for doing the parks on rainy days. We ended up in MK last June on one of those fairly rare 'rain all day' days, and did the e-ride night in the rain that evening as well. Many people seemed to give up, and the lines got much shorter. Now I half hope for rain! Go to Disney Quest when those really, hot, muggy days when the sun comes out, and everybody else goes to the parks, and then you can enjoy the DQ air conditioning!

On our last trip in February we went on the most beautiful day possible. It was empty inside and everyone got to do everything that they wanted over and over again. I agree that you should avoid DQ on rainy days. Go when it's sunny and pretend it's raining. You can't see outside anyway.
