My friend is going to Disney Quest with her 13 year old son. She says its $40 to get in. If she is just going in to follow him around does she have to pay that? Could her son possibly go in there alone and her do something else at Downtown Disney? Need any information on the set up and what you would do if it was just you and your son? Good together time? or a mom just waiting while the son does the games etc?

Disney Quest is a pretty big place, several floors high. We went there as a family and had a nice time. There are several interactive games that are for groups or families. I would not send in my child alone, of course that is my opinion. Also, if I was going to pay the price to go in I would consider upgrading the ticket to a water parks and more. I think Disney Quest alone is not worth the $40. I am sure others will have other opinions.

I agree, I wouldn't send my son in alone. If you are staying at one of the resorts, they have arcades that might suit him fine. My DH43 can spend alot time and money at the resort places. I would let my son go to the resort arcade alone, but not Disney Quest. Just my opinion.

Everybody pays. That said, WE thought it was worth it. It's more than just video games; it includes three of the most immersive and fun games we've ever played (and we have TSM for the Wii!).

First of all, it's neat. Then, it's cool. And finally, it's interactive.

If all you want to do is play video games and pinball machines, well, yes -- you could do that.

But if you want to see the future of amusement parks, that's in there, too!

Pirates is great fun. Ride the comix! And save the colonists on the distant planet -- all those are great. Virtual Jungle Cruise! Aladdin's magic carpets/motorscooters/whatever. Neat stuff, once you get used to the 3-D helmet.

Yeah it's worth it, and she'll have as much fun as he does.

He is old enough to go by himself. He is 13 after all and if he is mature and responsible, there is no reason why he cannot go himself. It would be a waste of money for the mom to pay if she does not like playing video games; which basically is what Disney Quest is all about.
