exactly what the question asks....is it worth the time and money?

i've done all kinds of stuff at disney but never this...

also, on the vacation planning video, they show some kind of virtual reality star wars thing...it looked like they were playing with lightsabers... is this true??! :woohoo:

We went in January and had the free park hopper plus (or whatever they're called) upgrades that included DisneyQuest. DH37 and I(33) tried DQ one day when my parents took the kids to MK. We enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear spinning ride, Pirates, Aladdin and Jungle Cruise. We went right at opening and had no to very short waits for everything. We then played lots of 80s video games for "free." I can see how video game loving teens/early 20s would love this place, but we did all the major attractions and played lots of video games in about 1.5 hours, left to eat and couldn't imagine bothering to go back for anything. If you or your kids live for video games you will probably love this place. If not, DH and I agreed that we would NEVER bother going if we actually had to pay!!!!

Sorry, I can't remember ANYTHING with Star Wars.

DH and I went on our honeymoon in 2000. We had the 'plus like" tickets whatever they were back then so it was "free" to us. We enjoyed it as a respite from the parks on a particularly rainy evening. I wouldn't plan on taking my little kids there, I don't think it's really aimed at them. Teens, yes. Adults looking for something beyond the parks, yes. Would I get the water parks & more feature just for DQ? No. But if you're getting the plus tickets, you may as well check it out. JMHO.

The first time we never went to Disney Quest but the last time, we did. We paid the extra and bought the tickets. I wouldn't do it again!!!
We tried to make a song and the booths were not working properly. We told a CM and he could have cared less and said well, it will take a hour to have someone come and look at it. You couldn't speak into the mikes and the sound was not always playing in the booth. We drew pictures with the girl and they couldn't find it. Some of the virtual rides had "items" down..(Aladdin carpets) and so the lines were longer. The only thing I really enjoyed was the Pirates ride and it was a 45 minute wait. The roller coaster was fun to make and ride. My girls only wanted the songs they created. They love to play them and know they did it. So, we did buy them at 10 each. Overall, I wouldn't waste my Disney time there. Just MHO. Others may have had great experiences but, for the money I was NOT impressed. I would rather go mini golfing or something. Good luck deciding. :rolleyes1

We had fun there with DS 5 1/2. We got the plus options for the water parks, but had enough to try DQ. We got there at opening and quickly did the raft ride and pirates. Pirates is great, but the line builds quickly so go there asap. Alladin was fun. We were able to baby swap on some things (also had DD 2).

The kids liked the video games. DS did the drawing lesson - he's into that stuff.

The light saber thing is Ride the Comics, I think. You sit in a chair with a virtual reality helmet and a light sword and fight comic book bad guys. It's a team thing, but everyone is alone in their chair and you can't see others while you're fighting. DH liked it. The swords and helmets are a little heavy. 5 yo is about the youngest I'd try it with.

We ate lunch there and then left. So maybe we were there 2-3 hours? Because we did the slow moving, popular stuff before the crowds (school groups) it was plenty of time.

We were at WDW a couple of weeks ago and beside the Star Tours ride at MGM there was a stage and on the stage were some star wars characters ( :darth: Darth Vader).Children and adults were going up one at a time and were shown how to use a lightsaber.
Then Darth Vader (he was the character who was there at the time) and the person on stage would pretend to fight each other with the lightsabers. I hope this helps someone else may know more about it than I do. :wave2:
