Hi all. Planning a summer trip to a disney. We will not be visiting the theme parks this time around (been recently and don't do theme parks in the summer! Way too hot for me!), but we are thinking about staying in a cabin at fort wilderness and spending one day at disney quest.

We have been to fort wilderness in the past and my kids loved it. They loved it so much they didnt want to leave to go to the theme parks! So this time we plan to spend a couple days just enjoying what the property has to offer (pool, etc) I know the golf cart rentals can be pricey, but I've heard we can rent from off property. Where???

Also, we have never been to Disney Quest. Tell me about it. My boys will be 9 and 5 by then and are all about arcades, so I'm sure they will enjoy. How much time should we plan on spending there? Is it a whole day event or half day? It's not cheap. That's for sure, but nothing disney is!

Anyhow... Any tips would be great.

Ps- we are traveling with 3 adults and 2 kids, which is why we are choosing the cabins as opposed to something else. We also want a property with a waterslide. Other properties with water slides are much more expensive for suites, or we would need 2 rooms... Trying to be cost efficient. But I'm open to suggestions. Main point is an awesome pool with a slide. Originally we were just going to do a waterpark, but my youngest will be too small for most slides still. Think we will wait another year for that.

I would say if you kids like arcades then they will have a good time at Disney Quest. I feel like it was much better when it first opened and the technology was where it should be, but that being said it is still 5 floors of video games as well as interactive games. I love that you can make and ride your own roller coasters, fight pirates, and go on your own jungle cruise. I would say budget at least a half of day for Disney Quest, and worst case you can always go back later in the evening.

As for the resort that place has a lot to do and if you kids like it then go back, especially if you like spending time at the resort. Normally my thought process is it is a room that I see before I go to the park and at the end of the day.

One thing I would note about Disney Quest: 2 of the rides that my 7 year old would love the most (the interactive roller coaster and the bumper-cars-Buzz-Lightyear ride) have a height requirement of 51". He won't be able to ride them at all, and that will be a huge disappointment. Just something to keep in mind re: your 5 y.o. (my 9 year old is over 51" and can ride everything there).
