Greetings,

My girlfriend and I will be visiting Disney World in June. I am planning on proposing to her and decided Disney would be the best place to do so. However, I am having trouble deciding exactally how I should pop the big question. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Thank you

Hmmm, the options are endless.

1. Dinner at the California Grill. It is great food, nice restaurant, awesome service. Pick a time close Wishes! and go outside the restaurant to watch the fireworks (get up from your table 10 mins before to catch a prime spot - your waitor will also hold your food so you can watch the fireworks and not worry about food getting cold). Once Wishes! starts and you have your prime spot, drop on one knee and ask her. How romantic is that? You have fireworks in the background, Cinderella's castle lighting up, Wishes! music in the background and witnesses all over you watching this special moment.

2. Go to Magic Kingdom, grab a Fastpass Photographer and ask him to take pictures of you by the castle (right in front by the Cinderellabration stage). Start taking pictures and then drop on one knee and pop the question while the photographer captures the moment forever.

3. Go to a nice dinner at a nice resort that has a beach. After dinner, go down to the beach and just take a walk, just the two of you. You could also time it for the water parade to be going on and then ask her.

Best of luck! I"m sure you will come up with something great! Have a wonderful time.

where do you want this to happen? resort, theme park, beach, restuarant

are you or her shy? or do you don't mind the entire world knowing about it?

there are several places in Epcot - the gardens in Canada, the gardens in Japan (over and behind it)

at MK in the rose garden - this is the area going toward Tommorrowland - the main entrance (not the back way) - it is in a pit (wrong word but you get the ideal) - you have to walk down to get to it. You can still see the castle.

at AK in the maze going into the TREE (bugs life).

the CM's at WDW love to help with this type of thing.

So take her to dinner - I like the 'Ohana (it is at the Polyn)- ask for a table where you and her can see the Castle. then get your waiter aside and ask him to bring her favorite desert with your ring attached to it..... (okay I hate the 'Ohana - but I do really love Kona Cafe - but you can't see the castle from Kona)

then you can see the fireworks and EWP after - while you walk along the beach....

Are you staying on WDW property? if so - say what hotel/resort. Some of them have great spots for this type of thing.

My fiance and I were at MVMCP and right after Wishes we were walking behind the Castle and he stopped me, ran to give the video camera to a CM, and proposed right behind the Castle. It really couldn't have been more perfect. :) HTH!! Good luck!!!

[Hey all,

Great Ideas so far!!!! Im getting so excited about all this! I am actually wishing to have the proposal be more private occassion, so I dont know how feasible it will be for me to propose on Main Street. If you know of any secluded areas, or any way you can make special arangements please let me know!

Thanks a ton everyone!

I did it on main street during wishes. The fireworks start off with a "shooting star" and they tell you to make a wish. I dropped to one knee and proposed then.

FYI- very few people will notice, they are all looking up at the fireworks :teeth:

Where are ya'll staying?
If you can hide some rose petals in your suitcase (which come available in silk in little bags), you can order room service (I know GF has a good menu) send her to get postcards or something, sprinkle the petals around and ask her before or after dinner which you can also time out to step outside and watch wishes.

what about a wishes or illuminations cruise?

Maybe someone will know more about this than me but last time I was in the contemporary, you could scoot up to the top floor to walk out on the ledge that overlooks the whole MK to watch wishes. Last time I was there, it was just DH and I. I don't know if they still let you go up there if you are not eating in the restaurant.

I wish you the best of luck!! :)

they closed off the 14th floor at the COnt - but there is a place on the 4th floor where you can still see wishes fireworks.

Say where you are staying?

if you don't know do you want to stay onsite? then I would recommend POR - lots of places here - rose garden, butterfly garden, gazebo

How about booking an early breakfast at MK and proposing on Main street while MK is still closed. I'm sure you could get a cast member to take a picture of the two of you.

Do you have any place with special memories for the two of you?
It is most romantic to stroll along the beach in front of the Poly with the castle;center stage. You could even take a walk over to the Wedding Pavililion and there is a gazzebo outside on the point also overlooking the castle. At night there would be no one there and you could time it so that Wishes would statt just when she said yes!

As a matter of fact, I was proposed to at the Poly Luau. and after, we walked along the beach to right where that little gazebo (it is actually an arch) is now...then it was a beach and we ah, well, we ah sort of sealed the deal IYKWIM (tho I don't rec'd that NOW!)

Hey now, I thought this was a family site :p :rolleyes1

I've got two that I think would be amazing:

1. Get a late dinner reservation at Cinderella's Royal table about an hour before Wishes and make sure to note you are proposing and want a window table. They dim all the lights and pipe in the music which is breathtaking through the castle windows. have the server deliver the ring in the chocalte slipper dessert during Wishes. I am sure another CM there would be happy to take pictures as well. Then after the fireworks when the Fairy godmother comes out to do her "celebrations ceremony" you can make the big announcement to everyone that you are officially engaged. Then the room has a lot of special lighting and music of its own as part of the cermony. This would be amazing and very easy to do.

2. A very unique proposal would be to propose to her in the living seas aquarium at Epcot. You can take the aqua seas tour which is snorkel assisted scuba for first timers- the tanks have flotation device so you will float at the surface). You can swim around together then propose underwater by slipping a special rubber band the diver can give you on her finger (you can give her a real ring after the swim). You can pop your head up from the water and tell her that you don't want her to be the fish that got away, and that you always want to be part of her world. The dive CMs will have a camera and can take pictures of you both under and above water. Very unique and she definately won't be expecting this.

Another thumbs up for gifts of a lifetime. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 They helped me with a vow renewal and it was magical.

Go make a wish at Cinderella's wishing well beind the castle...and ask as well...
