Has anyone ever gotten the Disney Princess Jewelry Box or Pirates Treasure Chest with the cupcake in it at one of the Character meals??? Is the cup cake any good? Is it worth the money? Or am I wasting it?

Me, my parents and my mums best friend are going on our trip for pleasure (Or at least that is what mum thinks) a week before my mom's 50th bday, where actually other family members are coming to join us to celebrate my mom's day for something really fun. She is going to Freak out, when we randomly bump into them at Coke Corner :rotfl:

Tonight I called Disney Dining to make reservations for Goofy's Kitchen, and I put it on speaker phone as my mom wanted to get excited too (Which she did. She bounced more then Tigger) :tigger:. I made reservations for the 4 people my mom thinks are only going. The Cast Member asked me if the dinner was for a special occasion, and my mom's eyes lit up and went OMG MY 50TH!!! LOL :rotfl: So they made note of that. After I hung up my mum flew out of the room, grabbed her cell and called her best friend who is coming with us and is in on this big birthday surprise of hers, to tell her she gets a birthday dinner at Goofys. I am sure my mom's friend had a good laugh. As my mum talked with her friend I called Disney Dining back to add on the additional people who are actually coming.

The Cast Member asked me if I wanted to give my mum a Disney Princess Jewelry Box or Pirates Treasure Chest for an extra $15 with a cupcake in it. I said alright sure.. Its her 50th its a special occasion right? But then for an extra $1.50 each they will add balloons to her chair. So I figured for $20 or so to make her day extra special why not right? I dont wanna sound cheap, but we have a bunch of things already planned for her besides this, and $15 cupcake sounds a little crazy, but I guess its also for the glorious box it comes in right? :lovestruc

Oh, you're so thoughtful and that sounds super-fun!

I've not really heard good things about the plastic box, or the small cake, and the "prize" is just a "mirror" (not sure it reflects?" or a "lenticular" compass (think those colorful 3-D stickers). It's super-thoughtful and I do think your mom should have cake for her birthday celebration (though since it's not her birthday I don't think it's a "must"). Is there any cake at Goofy's, though? Or for a lot less money you could get her what I've heard to be a GIANT slice at the Golden Horseshoe.

Is there any way to do the balloons without the box? If so, I think that's what I'd do. You could also have some of the "extra" people coming bring a little something special for your mom like birthday mouse-ears (if she'd wear them) or a plushie or something she would like.

Have a great trip!

We got the Princess box for DD10s bday. The cake wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either. DD loved it. I'm sure your Mom will too. :)
