So i recently became an annual passholder but i am interested in the premier passport and i can't find too much information about it. What exactly are the benefits of it and how much does it cost? and with me already being a passholder will i have to pay the difference between the two or something?

It's $1,134.72 with tax (there is tax only on half of it, since there's tax on Florida tickets and none on California tickets). It has exactly the same benefits as a Premium Annual Pass for Walt Disney World and a Premium Annual Passport at Disneyland. There are no other special discounts or benefits. And in fact in practice it's basically two separate passes on one card; it has the 12-letter code from a WDW pass and the 20-digit code from a Disneyland pass printed on the back of the card.

One minor inconvenience is that it can't be renewed online; you have to do it in person at either Disneyland or Walt Disney World. But it's significantly cheaper than buying the two premium annual passes separately ($779+$829.64=$1558.64). It doesn't have a renewal discount, but it's still cheaper than renewing two premium passes ($719+$701.84=$1420.84).

We are going to purchase Premier Passports too later this year, Do we get a card and a band?
You get a card, and at some point they'll send you a MagicBand, though it took a long time for mine to come. I already had one at that point from an on property WDW stay. Maybe now they hand you one if you purchase at WDW, but I doubt it.

You will be issued the Premier Passport on a card that should work at both WDW & DL. Some people that purchased at DL have needed to have the card replaced at WDW because it wouldn't work there. MagicBands are only mailed to US addresses.

I purchased mine this year & last at DL. It was a card that could be used at both coasts. Before it could be used in Florida, though, it needs to be activated at guest services at a Florida park. Once this happened my card strip for discounts no longer worked in California & the number had to manually imputed the rest of the year. I never received a magic band last year order this year.

So there is NO TAX of ANY Disneyland tickets? It has been so long since I've bought them that I don't recall this at all!

One thing to look at is common expiration date. I once had 2 years with a trip to each park both years. With the Premier, it would not cover the second trip of the second year because it would have expired in the Spring. I only buy a regular AP at WDW at the DVC discount and a Deluxe at DL because my dates are not in the blackout period. So it was better to buy separate APs and all my 4 dates were covered.

That's correct.
Thanks!! Just did the comparison for our upcoming trips between Premier Passport vs. (WDW DVC AP + DL 5day PH), and the Passport is $128 more per person. Will never make that up in food/merchandise discounts, so it's a no for us. Would have been worth it if we didn't have the DVC discount, though -- about even. Good to check, though! :)

I got one last month since I went to both DL and WDW. The discounts are the same with the premier annual passports, but I did get a nice gift for being a premier passport holder when I got back from my vacation last week. It was just a magnet inside but still sweet nonetheless. And my magic band was waiting for me at home when I got back last week.image.jpg

I just did the same math last month. You pretty much have to make a third trip to make the PP come out ahead if you already have DVC discounts or even WDW AP discounts.

It was such a surprise to get an unexpected package from Disney this week. It was my Premier Passport magnet! It came in such a nice box (that xjay posted above) that the box probably cost more to manufacture than the magnet itself.

Now that the price is going up another 31% to $1,485.77, I'd imagine I might never get to own one again until I'm rich! So I might as well enjoy royalty while I can.

I was wondering: It seems like there are still a lot of cast members on both coasts who haven't seen one before. Anyone have any idea how many of these are out there in the wild?
