Disney Premier Passport question

I am planning on getting the Premier pass next March - have two trips to DLR in March 2013, one to WDW for Thanksgiving 2013 and then hopefully DLR again Feb 2014! got to get my money's worth

first question - is there a specific ticket booth at DLR to purchase it?

second question - when we go to WDW, do I have to guest services again to get it activated for WDW and then back to DLR if we go in 2014? I'm a bit confused about all of that

First question - no, you can buy it at any ticket booth.

Second question - you have to go to guest services outside any of the parks to have the pass activated for WDW (different systems). if it's already activated at DLR, you don't have to re-activate it. For WDW, then they get your thumbprint on your first entry into a WDW park (this happened to us when we went to WDW in May, we thought we were good with the premier pass and went to the turnstiles where it wouldn't let us through; the CM asked if it was the first time we had used it at WDW and we said yes, we were then told to go to guest services/relations where we had it activated for WDW)

We're also DVC members, and since we were considering getting the DVC PAP I thought about just getting the Premier.

For us...we have to pay $115 for our SoCal parking anyway. So I figure with the SoCal AP gate price of $329 it would look like this

$329 (SoCal AP, assuming we get full credit)
$115 (DLR parking)
$399 (What I would have paid for a DVC member PAP)
$843

which is only a little bit less than the cost of the Premier (this is called Fuzzy Disney Math)

Yes, I plan on running over to DLR to activate our APs if somehow I can confirm that we'll get gate pricing for the SoCal APs. At this point, though, I'm leaning towards abandoning this plan since there is so much uncertainty.

I don't really want to activate our SoCal APs until end of Dec 2012 in order to "catch" the Christmas season in 2013. The price increases are making it cost prohibitive for my family of 6 to buy APs exactly on time every year. We might start staggering our renewal dates.

The only Disney Math I see is: how many Premier passes were you planning on buying vs how many parking passes were you planning on buying? If its just for one person to get a Premier it makes sense, but since I'm going to guess you were only planning on getting 1 (or maybe 2? for you and a spouse?) parking passes for the rest of your family its not quite enough to make it worthwhile. Oh, but I would love to have one of those Premier passes in my wallet ... it would be one of those things since I'm never going to be a Club 33 member, about the closest to elite Disney freak status that I'm ever going to get.

Hi Yea I hop around from the Cruise boards, to DVC boards, to DLR boards to wherever depending on what my next trip will look like.

When I said "we" I think I meant "I." DH isn't going to WDW this year w/us...so it would be just me for the Premier, and he will likely get the DVC PAP voucher.

We'll see what pans out.

The only *hitch* to my plan (other than the gate price issue) is we were going to put parking on DD's pass, since we really only go when we take her. If I put parking on my pass, then I *have* to go everytime she wants to go....and my parents would have to pay for parking when they take DD. We'll see!

Ok our family of 4 is staying at the Disneyland Hotel. We want to do the Extra Magic Morning hours. They each have 3-day Park Hopper tickets, and I have a Premium Annual Passport (the one that works at both DL and WDW).

Do I get Magic Morning Hours with my pass (since I am staying at the DLH)?

Annual Passholders can get a dining plan in Disney World. To include a paid Disney dining plan you have to stay at one of the Disney operated resorts in DisneyWorld. With an annual pass (inc. the Premier Pass) you can book a ticketless package that includes a dining plan through the Annual Passholder's website.

If you are looking at free dining, then everyone including Annual Passholders must purchase a minimum of 2-day tickets for everyone 3 years old and up on the reservation.

You could also look into the Tables in Wonderland card that includes a 20% discount at most TS restaurants and a selected few Counter Service restaurants in DW.
