We have never visited WDW in the summer. We are considering it but I have one question.... Last year we went to Palm Springs during the summer. Since it stays warm all evening, the pools were always warm. This meant that during the day, there was no refreshment when you went swimming since the pool was almost like bathwater. Is it the same at WDW? We would be going in late August.

For the past several years we have been going in August. We do alot of pool hopping when we can. The weather can be very hot this time of year but the pools are great! We have ALOT of fun at the pools! If it was not, we would be going at a different time of year!

Normally we stay at VWL. VWL pool is always warm, like bath water. There is not a huge relief, IMO. BWV water temp is much nicer than VWL.
No summer experience with the other pools.

We have taken trips in August a couple times...., but yeah, the pool will be real warm. I am one who will get into 65 degree ocean water, so I may not be the best test. It is my understanding that DVC keeps the pools up to 82 degrees.... I would rather it be 78. In dead summer, it wouldn't surprise me if the pools are at 88. Nonetheless, just jump into the 105 degree whirlpool and then back into the 88 degree pool and it seems damned refreshing.....

End of August was fine at BWV. July okay at BCV, mostly the quiet pool. The pool in July at AKL was very warm. Exactly like bath water. The frozen drinks at the bar by the AKL pool helped a lot though!;)

In 2005 we were at the BCV at the end of August and yes the pool was quite warm, not too refreshing. However, last year we were also at the BCV, but this time in July and the water was cooler. I thought I read something here about them lowering the pool temperature and therefore in the summer it is not as warm in the water. Anyone else?
