Disney Poncho Poll!!!

I prefer the cheap 2 for $1 ponchos. They are very light and perfect for those 30 minute afternoon showers. After the rain stops you just take it off and throw it in the trash. No carrying around a wet poncho.

But, if it was an all day type of rain I would probably suck it up and buy the ponchos in the park.

We haven't brought ponchos on our past two trips, didn't even think about it. We will probably just go to Target or Wallyworld and get some el cheapos to put in the bag.

We buy the Mickey Ponchos. I have some yellow ones and some of the clear ones. I will take the clear ones with us in 3 weeks. The yellow ones are special now, yeah I'm one of the weird ones and love the yellow ones! I did buy a Mickey pin with him wearing one of the yellow Mickey ponchos and I wear that instead!

Thing about the FL rainshowers is that they are usually very short and very soaking. If we were talking about light sprinkles we wouldn't be having this thread! We bring the cheap ones from the dollar store. Once they are used, however, they never fold back up to the packable size so we throw them away. Come to think of it, we've thrown away Mickey ones through the years (gasp!) but who wants to get a locker or hang onto a used one the rest of the nice day? We only buy the Mickey ones if we get caught in a downpour and we haven't prepared in advance, which has been a few times through the years.

I'd consider a jacket but when sitting down it doesn't cover my legs. So the ponchos work great for me. Also doesn't that jacket take up alot of space when not in use?

Nope! As I stated in my first post, our rain jackets fold up to the size of a Disney poncho We also live in the PNW and use these A LOT! Not for everyone, but sure worked great for us.

We bring the cheap ones with us. Every penny I can save means that much more I can spend on gifts for me!

Why?

Well ... if I were to buy the Mickey poncho for more money I would feel like I needed to save it and carry it around when it stopped raining. That is a hassle.

I like to by the 2/$1 at the dollar store ... carry a few with us ... crack it open when we need it and throw it away when it stops raining. If we need another one later in the day ... so what ... only cost 50c.

So that is my take on it!

We always buy new ones when it rains at WDW. We end up packing them away and taking them back home so we can use them on our next trip, but we always end up forgetting them or something. The next trip if it rains, we'll just busy new ones again.
