Yes, in a way I think it's horrible to see those Orange County Police cars on the side of the road as you enter Disney, ticketing people on their way into their vacation Isn't there some other way to stop people from speeding through there without ruining the start of their vacation?
I personally think it's horrible when speeding drivers blow through a marked construction area at speeds exceeding 80 mph and take a side mirror off of a construction vehicle...
If the offending drivers would adhere to the speed limits their vacations wouldn't be ruined with a road side chat with one of Orange County's finest. Again, another example of people not taking responsibility for their actions. For the record, the Orange County Sheriff's Office was asked to do a traffic detail in specific areas of roadways approaching the parks... construction zones primarily. Slow down... would you rather have your trip "ruined" by running down some poor guy working on the roadway? Also, tourists do not necessarily get a break from Orlando/Orange County law enforcement officers... however, the nature of the offense and the offenders attitude go a long way in determining whether a summons will be issued.
