Disney PLEASE stop trying to save me!!!

Casey's got rid of the nasty multigrain buns back in January. The hot dogs are now served on an 8' top split white roll.

I won't argue healthy versus unhealthy :rolleyes1, but I will be travelling with my Mom who has a wheat-grain allergy. She can only eat the cheap, white bread. Is there anywhere else you can still get the white bread at counter service meals?

Also, I hadn't heard of the pancakes ... any other food that whole wheat may have snuck into?

I'll have her call the allergy line later, but it's good to have some extra knowledge first. ;)

We were prettys disappointed on our last trip when we found that Cosmic Rays switch to wheat burger buns and they no longer had the bacon double cheeseburger meal.

No. to accommodate the allergy you can get gluten-free bread or rolls; but it will not be the same as white bread. Unless the restaurants actually have gone back to white bread...but you should still check to see what the ingredients in the regular rolls are.

The last time I got a burger at Pecos Bill's the bun was so dry it fell into pieces and couldn't hold the burger with nothing else on it. I was just too pooped to get up and wait and complain, but if it happens again I will.

It was like sawdust, I eat wheat bread and have never tasted anything so bad. I gave up and just had the burger and some fixins.

That is EXACTLY where we got the burger in May!! It was NASTY!!! I took the bun off.

Hot dogs are a wonderful, joyous thing. And they should be served on a white bun. Always.

Well, I also like a potato roll with my hot dogs (preferrably Martin's - don't know if they're available everywhere). But absolutely no wheat buns!

I also think "healthy" can be equated to "cheaper". Profit margins are higher with "healthy" choices. Whatever:rolleyes1

if they are hard then that means that the employees are letting them sit in the open instead of being in a bag to keep them soft

Stop trying to slip healthy stuff in my food!:rotfl: Really they put the hot dogs and burgers on a wheat bun and then have goopy cheese and chili ect to add on! I certainly know that when I order a bacon double cheeseburger and fries it is not the most healthy choice. BUT it is my decision! When I want to be healthier I choose a healthier entree. Which every menu has. BTW putting my gazillion calorie burger on a 'healthy' bun is not gonna help me that much in the long run, unless I choose to change my eating habits! AGAIN my choice!

LOL LOL RIGHT???? :thumbsup2 I also got a burger and again with the nasty giant wheat buns!!

I had a hot dog somewhere and was not liking the wheat bun either. your already eating a hot dog, so whats the difference really?

Maybe it's time for BYOB

And the B doesn't stand for beer.

There are already threads about this!

Admittedly, not because of the wheat issue. The idea is/was to save money by buying a double burger (rather than two singles) and bringing a bun to make a second burger. This was the suggestion after WDW raised the price of an extra bun.

I remember those threads and I still think it sounds like a great Saturday Night Live skit. I payed two thousand dollars for vacation but I saved $50.00 at lunch during the week because I had an extra hamburger roll in my purse! :lmao:

Not sure if I'm alone in this, but that certainly hasn't been my experience.

It's always seemed to me that the less healthy a food is (the more refined, more preserved etc) the cheaper it is. As an example, at least in my next of the woods I can buy el cheapo mainstream full fat, full sodium hot dogs at one low price, or, I can buy say no nitrate, lower fat, lower sodium dogs at a much higher price....same is true with other protein sources Mac n cheese - kraft standard edition I can buy 3 for $1....others featuring whole grain pasta, lower sodium less fat etc I can't touch for much less that $3 per box. 90% lean meats, much higher for me to buy per pound than the 70% available. I'm afraid the list is nearly endless.
