Not sure if this the right forum,as its my first thread.Here we go, I'm thinking of purchasing a Disney Platinum Pass, in reviewing the perks that come with it are "free Downloads"
how dose this work? Is it memory maker ?I know they give you a magic band. Do you then find a photographer scan your band then ,take your photo. Then later you can download the picture to your home computer? Or do you pay for each photo? I'm just confused by the terms they use .

Yes you can approach the photographer and they scan your band (or anyone else in your party) and the pictures are free to download. Also ride photos like 7DMT appear there automatically. You can pay extra for a physical disc I believe but they can all be downloaded for free.

The pictures do disappear after 13 months, but there's no fee for the pictures.

While it's not "technically" Memory Maker, it amounts to the same thing - only better.

PhotoPass is the service that anyone can use to have Disney photographers take photos of you and your party. These photographers are located all around the parks. They take your pictures and then scan your magic band (or your ticket card if you don't have a MB). this service if free to all guests. Those photos then show up on the photo pass site (which can be accessed via the MDE app) and you can purchase individual photos and then download them to your home computer.

Memory Maker is a "package"that you can purchase which allows you to download ALL the PhotoPass photos from your trip. You have 30 days in which you can download the pics.

What you get with the Annual Pass is the ability to download, for free, any PhotoPass pics for 365 days from the date the picture was taken.

Anyone on your friends and family list in MDE, can have PhotoPass pics taken (you don't have to be there, and they don't have to have an AP) and they will show up in your account and you can download them.

Hope this helps clear up the confusion a bit.
