Disney planning two-player Epic Mickey 2
Plans for a sequel to Wii exclusive Epic Mickey appear to be well under way, with Disney apparently sending out a survey to some US customers - to gauge their interest in the new game.

According to the survey the new game would be released for Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will feature a two-player split screen mode with Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit from the first game.

There's not much more gameplay detail than that, except that Mickey would still have his paint and thinner tools and Oswald will be able to 'fly like a helicopter' and use electricity to 'fight or friend [sic] enemies and solve challenges'.

Details of the survey were sent to website Destructoid and although this could all be some elaborate fabrication, it seems to be a lot of effort for a game that made relatively little splash either critically or commercially. It did do quite well in America though so a sequel's not inconceivable, despite Disney's declining interest in the console market.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the survey is that Disney already has box art for the game ready, with several possible designs being offered up for comment. There's also a number of different possible titles for the game: Epic Mickey 2: Return Of The Mad Doctor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two, Epic Mickey 2: Mystery On Mean Street, or just plain old Epic Mickey 2.
We'd be tempted to suggest that the game might be being considered as a Wii U launch game, but there's nothing in the survey to indicate that and in fact it quite specifically says Wii without the 'U'.
The original game was created by developer Junction Points Studios, which is headed up by industry legend Warren Spector - who helped create PC classics such as Ultima Underworld, Thief: The Dark Project, System Shock and Deus Ex. Apparently he's also an animation nut and hardcore Disney fan as well, if you're wondering why Epic Mickey was such a departure from his usual stuff.

I like the 1st Epic Mickey game, it will be interesting to see if there is a new storyline...

Will be very very happy with a 360 copy of this game :) Epic Mickey and Super Mario All Stars are the only reason I still own a Wii
