I've seen a few things about this new fairytale coming out from Disney-Pixar and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?:)

Well, Brave is Pixar's first fairytale. Our heroine is Princess Merida, who has an amazing talent as an archer. Something goes horribly wrong and she has to go on a journey to set things right.

It's gonna be released summer 2012.

Here's the premise:

"Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In Brave, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late. ”

Merida, the next Disney princess.

Apparently there will be much darker elements to the film.

This is supported by the organic colors in the teaser, compared to the bright colors of say Up, Toy Story, and Cars.

It was originally titled "The Bear and the Bow." I'm really excited to see it next summer!:yay::woohoo::banana:

I'm really excited for it! I have a feeling that it's going to be my favorite Pixar movie.:woohoo:

Curly red hair on a princess and big ol' shire horse? Loving it already!

You know if a movie stars a tomboy princess with wiry red locks and is a wicked archer, you are going to get good ol' fashioned Girl Power.
