I was wondering if anyone had a child that did the Pirate Adventure. DS6 says he wants to do it, but reading up on it, I noticed that there are many different ones to choose from. There is one out of the Grand Floridian, the Yacht club, and an new one out of Port Orleans. They all seem to be similar, two hours of hunting for treasure, lunch (a pb&j, juice and cookie) and then come back. We are going on a surprise trip 6/7 thru 6/14, and I want to sign him up!! I just can't decide on which one. Thanks

My boys did the one out of the Yacht Club. They absolutely loved it. We chose the Yacht Club because we were staying at Boardwalk and it made it easier. I have read great things about all of them.

What is the Pirate Adventure and where do I find information on it? Is it only for DVCers?

Thanks

I found information about Disney's Pirate Adventure in info. books. Last year my son and neice took the Adventures in Cooking Class at the GF. These are Childrens Activities, these two types run about $30. The Pirate Adventure is also out of the GF, and 4-10 yr. old "Cast off from the GF and cruise the Seven seas Lagoon in search of treasures.....they get bandanas and hear a reading of the Legend of Gasparilla, learn pirate songs, and receive a bag of loot, and have the lunch I mentioned before. There are also "cruises" out of the Yacht Club, "Albatross TReasre Cruise", and one out of Port Orleans, "Sassagoula River Adventure." They are all the same idea, cruising for loot, and having fun for two hours. You can call 407-WDW-Dine to make reservations!!!!!! Hope this helped!

There's also the Islands of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure that leaves from the Caribbean Beach Resort.

My son who was 5 at the time did the one at the GF in November. He had a great time and wants to do it again. However, the day he went it was really cold so they did it inside the GF instead but he still had a lot of fun. They went all over the resort looking for treasure. This is what they do in case of inclement weather.

My 10 yr old DS did the one out of the GF and loved it. The only thing he was unhappy about was that he couldn't do it again when we go back because he'll be too old.:confused3

Is this available year round?

How much does it cost for child and adult? Do DVC's get a discount?

We just returned and we have two boys ages 9 and 7. They absolutely loved it, couldn't stop talking about it for hours. We chose the cruise that departed from the carribian resort, if you are a concerned parent you can see them while they sail on the trip and lunch and booty was provided. The staff was great and very nice to all the children. The cruise is 2 hours long so go get a massage.

JCF,
The different pirate adventures are open to 4-10 year olds, and the cost is $28.17. These cruises are about two hours and run on different days at different resorts. As far I know, they run year round, and I don't believe that there is any type of discount available. You can call 407-WDW-DINE for more info, this is the number you would call to make a reservation for any of the Kids activities. Hope this helps.:)

When we went in 2005 my dd did the pirate cruise from the GF she really loved it and can't wait to go again.

While she was on the cruise we spent the morning having a nice breakfast on our own and then spending the rest of the time relaxing by the pool.

I just thought that I would let everyone know to book early. I called today for our trip in June and got the last space for the entire week, and I had them check all 4 different location. They had one space left at the Islands of the Carribean Pirate Adventure. It wasn't my first choice, but by the end, I just wanted to get one booked. It actually sounds like a lot of fun, they tell a story somewhat similar to the movies. I know that booking today may seem last minute, but we just booked our trip last week. So don't forget to make those reservations!!!!pirate:
