My daughter has been collecting pins since 2004. Every time we go, she gets a new lanyard & new pins. We have left them on the lanyards but I notice they are starting to look dull. How can I clean them without ruining them? Also, how else can I store them so they don't continue to get dull? Any helpful hints / suggestions would be great! Thanks...

I have mine on cork boards and lanyards and they don't look dull, unless they are the scrappers we have in the bathroom. lol I would only use a damp cloth, no cleaning solutions and make sure you wipe them dry after you wipe them down.

Thanks for the advice! A cork board sounds like a good idea.

Don't leave them wet. They will rust. I lost a bunch of pins to that when our basement flooded (luckily I only had a small amount of pins there in the first place and it was barely a flood at all as we got someone out quick to fix the sump pump.) The kids had been sorting pins on the floor from our trip to Disneyland and they are the ones that got wet. Got them out quickly but didn't get them all dry quickly and lost about 50 pins.
