disney pin starter sets ?

does anyone know how much one of the disney pin starter sets in the parks/resorts cost. It is an 8 pin set w/ a lanyard and tag. I have seen them on Ebay from $25-$75 for the same set (stitch). One ebay states that they cost $50 in the parks. Is this correct? Does anyone know? I haven't been able to find a good deal on the pins. Usually I get them from the DS store or DS online for fairly cheap- Under $4 a pin.

We leave in 18 days and pins are one of the things on my 'to do list'. I have an ebay person that is from the collectors board as being a good person to deal w/. Just trying to figure out the resort cost of the same item. I need to by aleast 4 starter sets for my DC.

I remember the princess one with 4 starter pins was $39.99. I looked because I bought the same one on eBay for $17.99.

Usually they are $49.99 with the 8 pins.....

Thanks for the fast responses. I think I will order them off ebay-- a recommended seller has the 8 pin set for $24. It seems to be the cheapest I can find so far. I am nervous to wait till we get there to check out the disney outlets-- if I remember correctly they are still $5 or $6 there. Thanks again, off to order them

The 8 pin sets are normally $49.99 or more in the parks. Have fun pin trading and thank you for using the info on the CB, we appreciate it!

I would definitely wait until you are at Disney. There are lots of different starter sets out there (some have the same amount of pens but the the pens are just in different categories (some worth more than others based on subject, character, etc). The starter sets have various classification levels and thus vary in price from 19.00 or so to close to 50.00 or 60.00 dollars.

So, don't just rely on 8 in a package being a good price for a set. The sets are everywhere! In the resort gift shops, at every little cart and store in the parks and at Downtown Disney. You can even find them at Disney's own website - disneystore.com.

I would be leary of being scammed on ebay.

I bought a few lots of pins on eBay....25 pins for about $30-you could always buy a smaller lot for $10 or so. My boys will trade them, so it doesn't matter which ones they are. I will just buy the lanyards at WDW..I think they are around $8 each.

I am nervous to buy pins too cheap, thinking they are probably scrappers. I usually got them for around $4 at the disney store/online store. I did go to the collectors board and checked out quite a few of the recommended sellers. this particular seller had the best prices for the starter sets. It was the best way to get the most pins for the least $$. we don't really need the laynards but I am sure we will find a way to use them. I have seen sellers where the pins are around $1 each-- to me that screams scrappers. I just now need to figure out how many to buy. I was thinking 10 each for the dc and maybe a few for ds2. they have gone thru their pin books and only found a couple of pins they want to trade- the rest they want to keep. I don't want to go down w/o any. I will probably get about 48 of them and then if I find them at a good price then I will pick up some extra for trading.

I just bought 30 pins off of Ebay for $40.99. I was figuring they would probably all be scrappers but I sat down and spent hours on PinPics.com and only 4 of the pins actually say there are fakes on the market. The rest of the pins look exactly like the pics and have the same backstamps. The problem is I thought these pins would be good traders - until my kids saw them - now they want to keep over half of them. There were 12 hidden Mickey pins - and I want to keep them. So I guess I'm going to have to buy more because what's left and what I already had will not be enough for 5 kids and myself to trade.
