Disney pin codes + Bill = TROUBLE *11/01 Almost time for our Happy Place*

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. – Walt Disney

We are really looking forward to this for many reasons:

Simply beautiful!!

To us this will be our 2nd party even though this will be the 3rd year in a row we are going. Why only the 2nd party in our minds? Because Bill ended up looking like this last year:

. Now we get to do a “do over”

.

Day 8 PLANS:

Go to Animal Kingdom, back to Pop for a rest period, then to Magic Kingdom for the party.

GOALS:

- Animal Kingdom early (at least for Bill and I)
- Safari
- Walking Trails
- What ever we didn’t do the day before
- Counter service at either AK or Pop
- Back to Pop to rest
- MK for party
- Watch the castle light up!!
- Bill and I are looking forward to the shows, the kids can go do what they want
- Hopefully meet back up with them for the parade and Holiday Wishes
- Break apart and do what ever we want to

I hope and pray it doesn’t rain us out again, I can not wait to see the castle all lit up, it is so beautiful to me. This is our last night in Disney World. Bill and I always seem to end up at Magic Kingdom on the last night, we have to get one last look at the Castle, one last Wishes, one last walk down Main Street, oh and fudge for Bill, we can’t forget that, it is a tradition.

Next installment… Our last day in the World

Tracy I'm sure the FP machines at AK are back to their normal places, it was just a trial and I'm sure I read that someone had seen they were back to normal!

Make sure the kids have a lazy afternoon before your party and I hope you all have fun :goodvibes

Most of you know I like Grey Goose Slushies
thumbsup.gif
, I have had the orange one too. I have tried Pina Colavas, Backscratchers, the margaritas in Mexico, and Lapu Lapu's. Are there any other drinks you would recommend? (wow I sound like a lush don't I?
lol.gif
)
Sounds like you've got it covered. :goodvibes Not a lush, on vacation. :thumbsup2

I do not like to repeat successes, I like to go on to other things. – Walt Disney

Are there any other tips for taking a 4 and 11 year old? I know rest, hydration, play time, but anything else?

Next installment…a safari and a party

I enjoyed the picnic punch at PTC :)

As for the 4 and 11 year old. Be prepared that they will want to do widely different things and that's ok. Try to build in things that each will enjoy, let them take turns picking, stuff like that. My kids definitely want input into the agenda, dictating where we go does not work though they will listen to suggestions. Be prepared that things you think they will go nuts over, they may not, and the oddest things that you'd never even think of, might make them happier than a clam.

:goodvibes

I'm glad to hear things are coming together for you Tracy!! :goodvibes

As far as the child swap goes, we haven't really used it because Alex has the GAC. If Zach ever wants to sit out a ride we just split up then the other parent who didn't ride, goes back later with Alex & his GAC. He's the daredevil and never wants to sit anything out!!

Stroller tips... :confused3 I think you have the most important one covered - making your stroller stand out so it doesn't get lost in the sea of stroller parking. Having the rental stroller will stand out a bit, but adding your own personal sign will help too. We've brought bandanas along before to tie on the handle - sometimes that helps too.

If it's raining or if there is a threat of rain and you are going inside without your stroller, make sure you cover it up with a poncho so you don't come back outside to find it soaking wet. Just watch out for the poncho thieves... I'd go with a cheap dollar store poncho - just in case. ;) The one that I lost was a Disney poncho - a several year old Disney poncho - but still a Disney poncho that I paid full price for!

One of the things we like about using a stroller is that we can keep some of our "stuff" in it when we park it and go on a ride. We've never had anything stolen (except the poncho). We never leave anything valuable - just in case. We usually have a backpack with spare clothes, a towel and other miscellaneous stuff the kids need. We did accidently leave the camera in the stroller once - and nobody touched it.

I'll put my thinking cap on and let you know if I come up with any other tips.

I don't know what we're going to do about the stroller this time... Zachary loves having his little "nook" to hide away and we love using the stroller for our stuff, but Zach grew A LOT this summer so I don't know how it's going to work out... we'll see. :confused3

The tangerine daiquiri in Morocco is YUMMY. I am a fan of all the drinks you mentioned and i liked this one too. Maybe we can get one together! I am so hoping we can run into each other!

Tracy I'm sure the FP machines at AK are back to their normal places, it was just a trial and I'm sure I read that someone had seen they were back to normal!

I don't know Jo, I heard from someone who was there last week that they were still there:confused3

Make sure the kids have a lazy afternoon before your party and I hope you all have fun :goodvibes

::yes::

The central fast pass in AK are not in use. They are still there but covered up last week. We asked about them and were told it was a trial.

How tall is the 4 year old? My 4 year olds were able to go on almost everything except EE, Primeveal whirl and Rocking Rollercoaster. (I think that was it).
When my girls were younger we used the child swap on soaring, and it took about 45 mintues to go through the ride with the fast pass the first time, then about the same the second time for the return. The good thing is the swap is good for 3 people. We were 4 adults, so my DH got to ride twice. I don't remember if my BIL waited with MIL or he also rode twice.

Why drink anything else when you can have a Grey Goose slushie???

Yes!! Besides the ones you mentioned (which are all awesome :thumbsup2) I happen to like: the Champagne Mojito (at SSR), Savory Martini (at AKL), the Lychee Margarita (at Yachtsman Steakhouse). Oh my, I can't wait to go back (and I am not a lush either ;))

Okay the DIS Former lush is here....oh wait...good drinks to try? Beer, beer, and beer.;) or Vodka and cranberry juice, vodka and OJ, vodka and grapefruit juice, vodka...okay you're getting the idea...;)

I'm with eandesmom and love the Picnic Punch at 50's PTC. There was also a drink at the Dawa Bar at AK that I enjoyed but can't remember the name of it.

Stroller tips. The Orlando stroller rental strollers stand out because of the orange. We also found that having one of those outrageously overpriced Mickey balloons tied to the handle made it easy to spot from a distance. We tied the string so that we could take it off/on for the bus rides; it was easier to carry it off the stroller when transporting.

I think I missed the post about the FP machines at AK!! A centralFP sation near the entrance would awesome If done right you coud t all your FP at one shot and save having to keep doublng back !!How did they work!!???

Is there still an Outer Rim bar at the Contemporary Resort? If so, my favorite drink in WDW was from there and it is called the Monorail Yellow. YUM!!!!

I ditto several of the kid tips...and I know I chimed in on this topic earlier too....

keep some structure and rules in places at all times to have some sanity...decide who is in charge of stuff from the get-go...ie touring, park ride order, times to get up, etc and then parenting stuff, eating all the food, manners in line, etc

speaking from experience of traveling w/ etended family...

allow for some special magical moments for each child throughout the week...riding on ride just w/ one other person. sharing a yummy treat, etc. the little moments sometimes prove to be the best!

take your time, follow their lead on uncertain rides etc they may be nervous w/

hope that is helpful!

and take lots of pictures and journal so you don't forget!

We are planning on rest before the party, I want to make sure we get there for the castle lighting :thumbsup2.

I like your way of thinking ;).

I might have to try the picnic punch! We are definately taking turns on what to do. I will give them options and go from there.

I have a cheap poncho that is now packed for the stroller, thank you very much!

That does sound yummy!! I hope we run to each other, it would be great to meet you!

Hannah should be able to ride everything your 4 yr old could. I can't wait until she see all the rides.

Why drink anything else when you can have a Grey Goose slushie???

True Heidi, true, but sadly I can't spend every day in Epcot :sad2:.

Those sound great, but we won't be at any of those resorts, I will put them on my to do list for another trip.

Yummy vodka!

I am glad the orange stands out. I also have made some stroller tags.

At one point in August there were Centralized FP machines at It's Tough to Be a Bug for the safari, Dinosaur, and EE. It was a test.

Is there still an Outer Rim bar at the Contemporary Resort? If so, my favorite drink in WDW was from there and it is called the Monorail Yellow. YUM!!!!

I don't know if that bar is still there or not.

Thanks for all the tips. I am a picture taking fool and I usually write in a journal nightly.

Outer Rim is still listed on the Official Site, not that that means anything

Thanks Jordan!!
