I apologize if there's another forum I should post this in, I searched and didn't find anything.
I'm just going to put it out there that the pin trading/collecting thing is way over my head.
That being said, my oldest son and husband love to have fun with it and enjoy collecting characters that they like (Husband-Oswald, Son-Stitch) but nothing serious.
Since there are so few Oswald pins, my husband was looking online and stumbled across a Disney event where you put your name in some sort of lottery to be eligible to have a first crack of purchasing the new set of Disney pins that are being released on August 17th, one of which is an Oswald pin. He was all excited about it since we were planning on being there on the 17th anyway.
The only time in my entire life that I have won something from a random drawing, I had to cart a charcoal grill home that was shaped like a football helmet and said "Budweiser" on it. So my expectations were pretty low as I registered for this event.
Somehow, I wound up in the 1st group of 100 people that get to go buy these pins. I'm assuming it's because only 32 people registered for the event, but what do I know?
Can anyone tell me what to expect? Apparently, I have to get up very early and show up near the Rainforest Cafe with my email saying I was selected. All because I love my husband and he loves Oswald.
Any advice would be appreciated. I'm very grateful for the opportunity, but I have no idea what I'm getting into.
