Disney Pillows

They do make it difficult! I do find one thing when trying to match hotel pillows - it's usually best to lean towards one of the more overstuffed, firmer feeling pillows than the other way around. Hotel pillows usually have pillow covers, and the pillows themselves are laundered regularly - that helps break them in and soften them. The ones you buy at home can sometimes feel firmer until they've been washed a few times. If your pillow is already so soft that your head hits the mattress, then there's probably no hope - washing won't firm it up!

Oh, and also remember - hotels rarely use King size pillows - so the king size tag numbers will likely never match. DVC has a bunch of queen size pillows stacked - some are softer than others. That's why when I was looking to replicate, I ended up picking up two Sahara Nights and two Westexs. The Saharas are much floppier and lighter stuffed while the Westex feel more like the firmer, fatter pillows at DVC, Being King Size, they may be a little different and slightly firmer, though I'm pretty confident with a few washings, they'll be a more direct match. I didn't want to go with 3-4 smaller pillows on my King mattress as I don't have enough matching pillow cases - most of my King sheet sets come with two king cases.

The one place I deviate from the trends is that I hate high thread count sheets - they feel like they cling and wrap to my body too closely...I've always been a fan of old fashioned, 1970s Percale sheets with lower thread counts that are a little stiffer and don't feel like I'm sleeping in clingwrap!

Yes I agree! The Sahara Nights is so flat it feels as though they started adding the stuffing and then stopped prematurely. It has a pattern that the vgc one doesnt have as well. Ive never overanalyzed pillows so much in my life, but absolutely no way theyre the same and I dont know why theyre trying to sell them as such. I am returning.

I ordered the Sahara Nights standard because I know DVC uses standard size. The Sahara Nights did seem a little bit shorter, but I wonder if the dvc fluffiness makes it seem bigger. I wanted the bigger sizes too but they were out 😤

I found the picture of the side by side comparison I did lol, not the best picture but the pillow to the left is Sahara Nights online vs vgc. The vgc one is so fluffy im pretty sure it uses double the stuffing 😭😭
