You got to open MGM! How was it? Was it fun? Magical?

It was great! They brought us in, took our pic (I don't have that one scanned and the scanner is down, drat), then gave ds one of those director's things that you slam and yell action. We were brought in front of the crowd at the turnstyles, and introduced, and the crowd counted down and ds got to slam the little arm down on the thingie.

Then, as everyone else entered the park, they took us into Guest services, gave us fast passes to Star Tours and Voyage of the Little Mermaid, stickers for the kids, and told us that after a certain time we could go pick up our free pic from the photo shop.

Later at the photo shop we got the photo in a folder, plus a certificate lettered with our name, date and that we were the family of the day.

All in all, a very good day! :woohoo:

ETA: forgot to say this was in 8/05, so Pixie Dust was indeed flying around long before the Year of a Million Dreams came about!

What I can tell is that we were early like one of the first families at the ticket machines way to the left almost at the end. My son is very out going and talks with older people very well so we talked and joked with the cm's both times. The rest is just luck. We have opened animal Kingdom , been the big Kahuna at typhoon . I think it all has to be with being kind and down to earth with the Cm's and very lucky and very early. Good luck It is amazing I hope we get to do it again .

I love that you guys are so friendly w/the CMs. We always travel with our best friends and the DH are always saying that we (the two Moms) can talk with anyone! I know we DEFINITELY won't have any problems with that....

But, I would have to say that you are extremely lucky--AK, MK, and TL. That is just so neat!

I'll have to try the turnstile approach in September, but I'm not sure we've ever been THAT early to the openings.....MK one time, but usually at MGM and AK, the lines are already formed by the time we get there.

Thanks (again) for the great tip! Deb

Where were you standing for this shot??? Looks great by the way!

Thanks- probably standing about in front of Caseys Corner maybe?

Jeff,

That superwide does give a different perspective, huh? I'll be checking back for waterfalls, streams, and mountain vistas in the days to come. Enjoy your vacation!

Im still deleting/editing most of mine from my May trip...certainly much harder to capture than fireworks or SM.

Spent MANY hours in that place...

This shot was taken last week while in line for Tower of Terror. In all the times we've been to WDW, I've never had the nerve to go on this ride. Well, my DH and DS convinced me to go on it, and let's just say, it'll never happen again!!!! That was the scariest thing I've ever done!!!!! But, the good thing in having gone on it, is that I know I don't like it and now I can say I've been on every ride at WDW!!
