The Disney photoshoot is surprisingly high in price (20 min $275 or 40 min $550), it's in line with many private photographers pricing. Tell me your experience and would you use a Disney photographer again? I will list my pros cons list below. Since Im not sure which way to go, Id love opinions.

Con:
They don't shoot on the beach
Price
Potential less quality pictures ie: no editing
Photographer skills can vary

Pro:
I can bring price down with Disney gift card deals I have acquired (about 15% off)
Only they can shoot on Aulani property
Very lenient cancellation policy if for some reason I feel extra ugly that day and just not up to it, plane delays etc etc.

Or do you feel that Photopass is really all I need?

I'll put in my 2 cents... There is absolutely no way I would pay those prices for a Disney shoot at Aulani.

For context, I get Memory Maker everytime I go to Disney World, love my photos. I did Capture Your Moment on my last trip, loved my photos.

I have not done the private photo shoot at Aulani. However, on our trip, we went down for the sunset photos three or four nights. I hated all the photos. They use so much flash the photos are so washed out. Also, the poses were not flattering. I wish we had just posed naturally, rather than the silly poses they put us in (I didn't realize how ridiculous we looked until I saw the photos...).

I have seen other's photos and some looked really nice so maybe other people are more photogenic than us, or edited the photos to make it look less washed out??

Regardless, the fact that they no longer do the private photo sessions on the beach would be a deal breaker for me. Why go to Hawaii and not get photos on the beach!?

I agree the price point is not far off of the price of private photographers, and you will get way higher quality photos. Here's an even cheaper option, buy a selfie stand with a clicker on Amazon. Take it around the resort and beach and take group photos. Ours turned out great!

I assume the photographers can be the same. Thanks for the input, I had a feeling it wouldn't be worth it thats why I asked. I was actually rather shocked at how much it was considering no beach.

Wow, that's a lot, I guess it changed. When we were there in 2021 we did the photo shoot and it was much lower, maybe $100, and we did it on the beach at sunset. Was worth it to get Christmas card pics.
I don't think I'd do it for that price, we'll just do photopass.

I thought it would be more like $150 for 30 min, I think I’d do it for that and take a chance.
