Disney Photos How can I download them

I just got some pohotos taken at WDW by one of their photographers. I would like to download them from their website www.disneyphotopass.com but I can't figure out how to do this. Their charges are outrageous considering it was taken by a digital camera. Anyone could make a copy of a digital picture for pennies. I don't mind them making a profit but $13 for a 5X7 is very high. If I could download them from their website and copy them myself I would be a happy camper. Any suggestions??

The service is designed to prohibit downloading of the photos. The image displayed on the web site is very low resolution, and that's obviously done by design. My guess is that they don't even have a high resolution version accessible via the web--the original is probably stored off-line to be used for purchases only.

The easiest thing to do would be to preview the large image on the web, take a screen print of your PC, and then crop the image to remove the rest of your desktop. This is still going to leave you with a picture that will be noticably fuzzy even when printed at a 3.5 x 5" size.

Too bad Disney / Kodak aren't offering a digital download service for a smaller fee.

If you're an AP holder, check your recent Mickey Monitor for a coupon for 50% off on the order of Photopass photos. There is a Photopass card inside the Mickey Monitor. Use the ID number on the back of the card as a coupon code when ordering, and you'll pay half price for all 5x7" prints. We had a cute photo of DW and I taken with Chip and Dale at the DVC member gathering last December. Getting that 50% off coupon convinced me to buy. It was about $8 with shipping and handling.

The pictures don't seem to be priced that much differently than if you purchased them at the park before leaving. You are paying for the convenience of getting all the pictures you can and not having to wait in line at each park before leaving for the day.

They create very nice pictures when ordered.

There are ways around right click saving being blocked, but as tjk pointed out, you wont get a good quality picture.

I am an AP holder but I have never received the MM. Would you please email or PM me with the code. I can add my own pass number to the required fields so I can get the 50% discount. I have a coupon from my Disney Visa for 20% off but it is still way too expensive. With the AP rate of 50% off I can order some of the pictures. Thank you for you help in this matter. I love the dis because of people like you.

The discount code is the same as the 16 digit photopass ID. However, I believe the discount will only work for the photopasses inserted in the Mickey Monitor. As such, you need the card. Since this is targeted for AP holders, it makes sense that they take steps to ensure that it doesn't get abused.

I'd suggest calling to get a copy of the MM with the card in it.

No, it will actually work even if you don't actually use that PhotoPass card. According to the instructions, you plug in the PP ID number as a coupon code during checkout. I did that and it worked just fine even though I don't have any photos on the card itself.

icy-dog: I kinda doubt that the same pass ID can be used for more than one order. If so, they'd be posted all over the 'net in no time. If I still have my card, I'll PM you the ID number later and you can give it a shot. Or, perhaps someone that won't be able to use the discount can send you their number.

Hi! This is my very first post! I have been around for awhile but just never had a reason to reply! I don't know if this helps you or someone else, but I have the Disney Visa card and I just received their flyer with specials/coupons and in it there's a special for the photos. It's for 20% off your entire order at www.DisneyPhotoPass.com. It says to enter DISNEYVISA20P in promotion code field when you check out from Feb 1 - April 30,2005. It also states "Promotion code may only be used once per order and is not valid in combination with any other offers".
Maybe this can help you save some $!

Thank you. If you can find it I would be grateful. I have the visa code but need the MM one. I have been trying to get a MM for years now. I think the problem is that we have two addresses, one in St Augustine FL and one in Monroe NJ. With the FL seasonal AP you have to be a FL resident so we give that address. My neighbor forwards the mail but I'll bet she is throwing this little magazine away. She is 85 so I don't even want to bring it up. I don't want to hurt her feeelings and I think questioning her on what she may or may not have thrown away would do just that.

Anyway if I put in my photo pass number I will get the 50% discount. Is that what you're saying?

What does this mean? Your photopass number or a special MM number?? I am confused

Sorry I wasn't totally clear. The PhotoPass card that came in the Mickey Monitor looked just like any other PP card. It had the 16-digit number that you enter at www.disneyphotopass.com to link your photos. However, according to the info in the Mickey Monitor, that same 16-character code could also be used as a coupon to get 50% off of photos.

I typed the number in during my checkout and, sure enough, it displayed a message that said something like "Annual Passholder Discount", and processed my order at half-off.

My guess is that each code can only be used once. Otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose--you'd see the codes posted on these boards and Mousesavers, and everyone would be using them.

I do have my card and will PM you the ID. If it doesn't work, you could try posting on the Budget Board. Perhaps someone who isn't going to use their code can help you out.

I simply clicked and dragged the Photopass photo to my desktop and printed it. The resolution wasn't wonderful, but it wasn't that terrible either. Still deciding whether to buy 5 X 7s. I would gladly buy if they offered 4 x 6. Don't know why they don't have a 4 x 6 option.

I was not able to right click at all. How did you drag it without right clicking. Yes the quality is bad. We print screened the pics and they are okay for email and that's all. That's fine with me. Iwant to buy some pictures but I still need the code from the Mickey Monitor. I am going to take the advice of the previous poster and try the budget board. Thanks very much for the suggestion.

Maybe it worked for me because I use a Mac??? I just tried it again and it saved to my desktop as proxy.jpg.

I was able to do that but the quality was very bad. My husband got a tip from a dis'r that allowed him to "print screen" the photos. These were good enough quality to email to my family. That's basically all I wanted to do anyway.

I think this is an awesome service. It wasn't that long ago I mentioned to hubby WDW do something like this and now they have!
We had some fairly decent photos from our trip a couple weeks ago, but I'm waiting to use the AP PhotoPass for our spring break trip with our girls.

Disney Visa also has a deal thru the end of April I think for 20% off ALL pics you order.
