For those who have prepurchased the CD, when you log into the Photopass website, you will find that there is a credit of the prepurchase CD waiting in your account. From memory, I think I got sent a PP card (with number) when I prepurchased and logged in to the system to create my account. Take this card with you to the World.
When you get to DLR or WDW, there will be photopass photographers (PP) dotted around the parks and at certain locations eg. Boardwalk. I believe that Guest Relations will provide with a map indicating where the PP are located. I made sure that we hit as many of the photographers as possible.
After you take a photo with your first PP, he/she will hand you a plastic card...much like a thin credit card. (If you have your prepurchase card, this is the time to hand it to the PP. If you don't it doesn't matter as you'll get the new card.) This card will have a alphnumeric number on it. When you next see a PP and want to have your picture taken, you hand them your card. After they take your picture, they will scan the barcode and the pictures they have taken will be loaded into the 'space' associated with that number. It doesn't matter if you forget to hand them the card because they will provide you with a new card. Keep ALL the cards.
You can go to the photoshops at WDW or DLR and consolidate the cards...but you can do that at home or from your resort if you want to.
Some of the PP will have special effects where they will get you to pose a certain way and the pictures will include the effect.
When you come home, log into your account and enter all the card numbers against your account. The pictures will then be loaded into that account.
I think you will have 30 or 40 days from the date of the last card/picture taken to do all your edits, borders, picture sizing etc from your original stock. Make sure you take advantage of this and save each picture in as many different versions as you want with all your edits, including the different print sizes.
After you've completed your edits,
you will need to order a CD within the timeframe you've been allocated. This was the bit that confused me because I could see the prepaid credit sitting there but didn't know what to do. You do not need to go and individually select every picture..... Just order a CD and at the checkout, the prepurchase will cancel out the order. There will be an international shipping charge that you'll need to pay for at this stage, so have your CC handy. From memory this was about US$15.
Once you've ordered and paid (the shipping $15 charge), Disney will load every photograph and every version you have saved in your account on a CD and send it out to you. You should be able to track your order on-line against your account.
When you get your CD, there will be some T&C provided which effectively states that Disney gives you all ownership rights to your pictures. You can load them on your PC or take the CD to a print shop and print them out.
When you consider that ordering an individual print from Disney is about US$15, the value of the CD depends on how many pictures you end up taking. I came back with 400 pictures - may of which were duplicate or multiple takes by the same PP - and with edits, borders, effect etc...I think I ended up with about 600 - 700 pictures on my CD. When I was doing my research on this last year, some of the Brits were ending up with 4000 pictures....and were sent 6 or 8 CDs for the one prepurchase price.
If you are hitting both DLR and WDW, you just need to load up ALL the card numbers on your account. Every picture will be associated with your account irrespective of which park it was taken at.
Hope this helps.
