With just 2 weeks to go I'm planning in earnest to make my nephews first trip extra special and trying to remember all the little :tinker: touches so was wondering ?

Does Goofy still do the morning wakeup call at the Santa Fe ?

Is the Birthday Phone Message at City Hall still running, think that was part of the Magical Moments theme. Can we call in at City Hall any time of the day for that, was thinking it would be nice first thing on the first morning, but it's EMH that morning so will City Hall be open at that time ?

Is that also when they're given a birthday badge ?

Is there anything I've forgotten that would make the first trip even more special ?

Does the Santa Fe Have prebookable packages, balloons, birthday card etc ?

PS We've booked Cafe Mickey and a cake for the evening.

Hi Jill,

I don't have experience of this myself but I read a lovely trip report recently where someone just popped into City Hall on the day to get her badge and they arranged the phonecall there and then. Here's a link to the report http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2860032. I think you can just do it off the cuff by the sounds of things.

I also read somewhere on here that ASDA do lovely disney birthday badges if you want to get one in advance.

Not sure about the wake up calls but I have read on here about people who have booked for Santa Fe and have emailed ahead mentioning that there will be a birthday during the stay and I think they normally say there isn't officially anything they do but quite often they'll leave a beanie, some chocolate coins and a little note in your room during the stay. Deffo worth a try! :thumbsup2

Hope this helps a little! Have a great time!

its either Goofy or Mickey who wakes you up in the Santa Fe (I'm sure it was Mickey last time we stayed there).

Mickeys birthday phone call isn't part of the current year's festival, my DD and Dniece got their birthday calls from him in March 2011 (well before the festival began). I'm pretty sure City Hall is open during EMH, and yes, thats where you get the birthday sticker too.

I hope your nephew has a fantastic birthday trip :goodvibes.

I got some lovely Birthday badges in Asda think they might be the ones MelanieRavenswood mentioned

They didnt have the Minnie ones when I went last week but they did have Minnie with ages on them

What gorgeous badges :lovestruc

My eldest daughter got a birthday phone call from Mickey at City Hall last month. We had been told to go when checking in at the Cheyenne and the CM at City Hall took us into a little room and arranged it there and then. She was so thrilled. Didn't get a badge, it wasn't her actual birthday though so maybe that's why.

When you get the phone call from Mickey do you think they could play it on loud speaker I would love to film DD getting this or is that not possible?

Thanks everyone, all info much appreciated :flower3:

Those badges are gorgeous, not sure Jack will think so though ;) but there is bound to be a male alternative so I'll pop to Asda at the weekend. Will most certainly be setting the wake up call for him and popping into City Hall too :thumbsup2

I have to ring Santa Fe next week about our rooms, to see if we can stay in the same room with our 2 packages, so I will mention Jack's Birthday to them then, the NPB were superb a few years ago when my DS had a birthday, with free balloons and gifts. :)

Yes they had Mickey and Donald ones for boys x

I'm sorry, I really don't know, it all happened so quickly I didn't even think to ask. The CM picked up the phone, pressed a few buttons and handed it to my DD to listen. The CM left the room to get a little treat for DD so I just have a pic of her standing next to a telephone :rotfl:

Well I will give it a go obviously DD is too young to listen to a phone message probably just throw it on the floor or eat it but would love to have it recorded x
