Has anyone purchased the pearl necklace that is offered on-line at Disneycruiseline.com? I was thinking about buying one as a surprise for my DW. The picture on-line is so small I can't see what it really looks like. Does anyone have a picture? As always, THANKS!

Dh surprised me with this necklace on our 6-2003 cruise and it is still my favorite piece of jewelry. I will post some pictures that we took because this has come up before. I'll post as soon as I can locate.

Here are the close ups.

The gold back is stamped with Disney.

The necklace clasp on one side is a "u" shape that you slide and click into place.

In the close up of the "gold" side, I turned it so you could see the clasp. It is still hard to see, but it is secure. In fact, I had a hard time undoing the clasp when I took it back off of the pearl strand.

don't forget to click on the smaller pictures for a better view. I know some of you probably already thought of that, but remember, I'm technology challenged and I might not have thought of that! LOL!

My husband bought me one for our anniversary  - it is my favourite piece of jewellery! I love its versatility- plain pearls, pearls with Mickey, gold Mickey on a chain :sunny:

Go for it-I am sure your wife will love it!

This isn't about the disney pearl, but the wish pearls in the little cages. They're cute, and good for kids. But we had a problem with ours.

We bought one for my daughter a few weeks ago. When we got home and opened the can, the pearl was too big to fit in the little cage and close properly.

We ended up taking the clasp off an old piece of costume jewelry and closing it over the place where it was supposed to close. In retrospect, I suppose we could have tied it shut with a piece of thread, easier. (We first tried using a link that was the same color as the necklace, and using tweezers to tighten it around, but we couldn't quite get an angle on it. Yanking the clasp seemed the next natural step.)

I'm still a little worried the pearl will work its way out. But you can't see our little surgery unless you look closely, and it seems stable.

I kind of wish we had opened the jar when on the ship. Then we could have exchanged it for a new one if it didn't work.

Where can I purchase this necklace on disneycruiseline.com? I think it's a beautiful necklace and would like one for myself! Can you also purchase this necklace, or something similar at disneyshopping.com?

You can only buy it for a stateroom gift for an upcoming cruise if that is what you are asking. The only other place would be e-bay, but I haven't seen one there.

It was kind of funny, on our last cruise I was wearing mine when I went into the gift shop, the CM behind the jewelry counter asked where I got it!

We were married in WDW (Wedding Pavilion) on July 1, 2002. My wife wanted me to go on a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon so we booked a 3 day (07/04/02 - 07/07/02) and the rest is history as they say.

For our first anniversary I booked a 7 day eastern and ordered the stateroom gift Mickey pearls. Outside of her engagement/wedding rings the Mickey pearls is her favorite.

BuddyBear, I am just like your wife. My wedding ring/band is the only piece of jewelry I love more. I wear just the mickey head on a gold chain all the time.

You will not go wrong if you get this for your wife!!!

I purchased the necklace for my wife yesterday. THANKS for all the replies and pictures. She's going to love it!

Make sure you give us the scoop when you get back!

Yes, BuddyBear, we did get a deal way back then! :teeth:

Does this mean that they don't sell it in the onboard gift shops? I was kind of checking it out but was hoping to see it in person before making up my mind.

If I did have it ordered as a stateroom gift and for some reason didn't like it, is it returnable?

They do not sell it on board. As I recall, another poster said that she and her hubby decided to wait and purchase on board and they could not. She was very disappointed. It really is a nice piece of jewellery. I do not think you would be disappointed. ;)

Just to follow through on my own question. After speaking with guest services, it was determined that if I ordered this necklace and for any reason was unhappy with it I would have to go to guest services on the ship and they would be able to arrange for a return.
