Disney Pathetic Groupie's (DPG's) Roll Call

I fail. I still plan every minute on a spreadsheet that has tabs planning future vacations before we take the next one, with countdown timers on each tab. We painted our living room the same shade that we saw at the Boardwalk (hotel, not villas- pre DVC trip).

But we (please don't throw anything) love Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, even though we only go there once every 2-3 years. So I'll regretfully withdraw any thought of joining.

Another DPG here!! I can't begin to tell you all of the Disney things we have, including the entire Olszweski Disneyland Main Street miniatures set. It's nice to be in such good company, though, isn't it?!!

Our DS has moved to Salem, OR and is getting married in 2 1/2 months. His bedroom is going to be changed into a Disney-themed room. As soon as DD's wedding is over in 2 1/2 weeks (yes, we have 2 weddings in our family 2 months apart from each other!!), the transformation will begin. ::MickeyMo

I am a DPG as well. Since we live on the west coast our family frequents DLR more than WDW. We recently bought DVC for VGC. My family loves DLR but they also love WDW so they "pressured" me to add on at BLT. :rotfl:So now in addition to our 2 or 3 trips to DLR each year we will also HAVE to go to WDW:laughing:

Of course, we have many Disney-themed items gracing our home. Three years ago when we were adding a dog to our family we went out to look at some puppies. My DD's found a dog right away. Her name? Snow White, of course. We looked at the dogs and then left while I agonized which one we should get. I told my DH that I just needed a "sign" to help us know which dog would be the perfect dog for our family. My children reminded me that we were a Disney family and the sign was that she was already named appropriately. So not only do we have the Disney license plate holders, Disney stickers, antenna balls, and ... the list goes on and on ... we also have a dog named Snow White. Of course we brought her to Disneyland in her Snow White dress :goodvibes

My big dilemma concerns our up-coming trip in August. My children told me that they heard that there is more to do in Southern California than DLR  We will stay at GC for six nights and then we will go to San Diego for TWO NIGHTS :scared1: My DD's say it will be okay because we will be returning to DLR in September when VGC opens. I don't know. My hands get sweaty at the thought of going somewhere else.

I guess it's true. I am a DPG, too. And proud of it!

We too are a DPG family.

In no specific order:

Multiple Disney stickers and magnets on car, including Disney family stickers, etc. Car license plate holder, antenna toppers and the suction cup disney characters handing from the front window.

The welcome mat at the front door is Disney and I have a new door knocker that is Disney that is waiting to be installed. The pillows on the couch are the Mickey Mouse Club pillows sold online a couple of years ago. The picture window in the living room is covered in Mickey gel clings that my DD10 loves to rearrange.

The kitchen has many disney glasses and mugs hanging around. I would love to redo the entire kitchen, but that isn't feasible right now.

The hallway has one entire side dedicated to shadow boxes with disney pins, and a large multi-pin rendition of the Disney Magic ship. The office is full of DVC pins, giclees, DVC hats, etc. The kids bathroom is all Mickey, all of the time, and my bedroom used to have the MM duvet cover and two Mickey throw pillows. I had purchased some of the Disney wallpaper border for my bedroom, but it was never hung. I guess I need to E-bay it because my mom has made us a beautiful quilt that would not go with it.

I wear only Disney watches, and own 4 pair of Disney crocs.

The rest of the family are big fans, but not quite to my level.

If this is my obsession, so be it. There are many addictions that are far worse:rotfl:.

I love reading everyones posts!! So nice to be around people who feel the same way we (dh and I) do. Our family (our siblings/parents/grandparents) thinks we are crazy....some have told us Disney is not their thing.....but bug us to go. LOL

I knew I would forget a couple more things...thanks to the previous poster. I have 3 pairs of Disney Crocs (dh is sad he doesn't have a pair, he wears a size 13), and a huge collection of Disney trading pins and mugs. Sometimes I think dh is addicted to Disney more than me....LOL. My kids (16 and 17) have to have Mickey Mouse chicken nuggets (sold at Costco). They are actually pretty good! :)

Geesh you guys are pathetic! Awesome to know I'm not alone.

My youngest daughters room is like a princess explosion because I had to concentrate my Disney love in a place where my DH's head wouldn't explode at the sight.

I have absolutely no desire to vacation anywhere else and no plans (little does my husband know). My mom dragged us (me, hubby and 3 dd's) off to Africa one year and all I did up until the trip was whine in my head about how Animal Kingdom would be much more fun, Boma would have better food, AKV would be more comfortable and glamorous and with no chance of Malaria. I just hated the thought of giving up my Disney trip that year to go on a family trip to Africa.

I have and Old Country Roses china collection because that is what is used at the Grand Floridian and it is my most favorite hotel in the world. The only thing that keeps me from buying any more points anywhere else is the hope that one day there will be a GFV DVC.:cloud9:

We do not wander off campus ever except for groceries or for the obligatory visit to my sister which is never overnight because she can't compete with Disney. Awful I know.:upsidedow What's worse is we never tell her when we get there. We do everything we want to do and then tell her we just arrived and are just there for a couple of days so she won't try to hog up our vacation by making us hang out in her lame area of orlando eating at Applebee's because gasp she won't hang out with us at Disney because gasp she's not into Disney.:scared1:

Went to the Zoo the other day and in the Africa exhibit the kids and I (with my leadership) pretended to be in Animal Kingdom. Thank goodness there was no one around, not that it really would have made a difference!

I was immediately obsessed with Disney the moment I saw the Vacation video. It's like it triggered a genetic predisposition to being addicted to Disney. I had never been but OMG the levels of insanity I exhibited after my first viewing were off the charts. A few months later when we had our youngest, the minute she could look at TV, I began her indoctrination. The older kids were already several levels into the process.

Who knew about DVC before they ever stepped foot on Disney property? Me. We bought prior to our first trip and have never stayed any other way. In other words we were pros from the first trip. Absolute and without the DIS either or any Disney site. All I had was a phone and a burning desire.

Through sheer will and desire infused with a healty dose of obsession, I got my family on a Disney travel channel special. That was a goal for years and I knew it would be fulfilled. It had to happen!:rotfl:

I am a pathetic addicted to Disney groupie loser but DPG sounds cooler.:rotfl:

OK, I qualify!!

My list, hmmmm...

I'll start with the fact that I've been in love with Mickey since before I can remember and before I knew there was a place called Disney World!

DH and I just made our first DVC purchase of 200 points at AKV in April and I'm dying to add on!!!!

I try to keep the disney low key in the house. But I maybe failing at that!

I have several collage frames with pictures of past trips! I have shelving unit my living room full of at 20 different Disney/WDW snow globes and figures!

The canister set in my kitchen is Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy!

I have about 20 different disney mugs, including refillables from resorts. My favorites are my 2008 and 2009 mugs. I hate it when one of those isn't available for my morning coffee!

I have a Mickey waffle iron!

I Mickey phone!!! I actually had a different one when I was a teenager that my sisters gave me as a gift. The phone was mickeys backpack! Now I have real Mickey phone where the yellow handset hangs up on mickeys hand! We don't use it, I have it on top of a shelf so the kiddos can't get it!

I have a framed map of the Magic Kingdom from the early 70's.

My car has the disney family stickers proudly displayed on the back window as well as my Mickey Mom's Club round magnet on the tailgate!

I have a collection of theme park DVD's and CD's.

DD's room has all sorts of Disney things including the keepsake maps framed and hung and a really cute set of theme park prints I bought a few years ago.

I have a D23 membership and suscribe to Celebrations.

I have every Birnbaums book and vacation planning DVD from 05 until now.

I have a collection of at least 15 different books about Disney of all shapes and sizes! I LOVE my disney coffee table books!

I have a DVR full of recorded Disney specials from the Travel Channel

We own Disney stock!

Between the kids and I we have easily 300 pins!

I have assorted Mickey necklaces and earring, but I only wear those to the parks.

One anyday of the week at anytime I can be found wearing a Mickey watch I bought in 07 and a mickey tennis bracelet that DH bought me in 08. I'd cry if anything happened to either one!

Our dog, an 18 month old 90 lbs yellow lab, is named Pluto!

Oh my!! That's a lot and I sure there's more!!

When do we start the 12 steps or at least get a symbol to add to our sig?

Haha, working on it. Being the DPG I am, I am taking a trip next week, and will work on the program...(No, forget that, we don't need one of those) but I will work on the sig as soon as I can get back.:thumbsup2
