My friend just got back from WDW and told me about a store in DTD there that had all kinds of cute potato head parts (some of them disney or star wars themed) that you can jam into a box for $18. Does anyone know if any stores in DTD at DL carries these? My kids would flip over mickey or minnie parts for Mr. Potato head!!!

You can get them in DCA, at Engine Ear Toys. Its the store, on the right corner as you enter the park.

Saw them there on the weekend. I don't remember seeing it at World of Disney in DTD.

I think filling the box with your choices are specific to Engine Ear Toys in DCA. I thought I remember seeing premade boxes at another store though. I just don't know which.

I picked mine up at the engine ears toy store in DCA. Have one of the employees help you box them up. She fit so many more in the box for me then I would have been able to myself. She was awesome!

I always "stock up" once a year on new Disney Parts........you don't have to put the potato body in there...just parts. You can always buy a body at the toy store!

I always cram in extra eyes and arms. They fit everywhere. We have a ton of stuff and it seems like they discontinue some and bring out new parts every year. :teeth: Probably just to get more $$$ out of me!!!

I did find out that in January of every year they issue new parts.. So when we checked out we got to pick 3 extra parts that didn't have to fit in the box.. It was really cool... We got a tea cup... A hat and some eyes that we didn't have..

I have not seen the pick a part out side of DCA thought..Pre made at WOD though..

Also make sure that you get a right and left hand. They are different... Only their hands will hold their Disney parts.. Ie balloon, camera, popcoen, soda pop, autograph book, mickey bar..

i can't wait to go there! my DS4 loves mr. potato head! and it would be so cool to get more parts for it! and he love star wars too, so that's an extra bonus!! :flower:

Pick up your basic potato head at Target down the street and just fill your box with all the extras (Target had a cute "family potato bucket that included a child potato and two adults...cute! and Star Wars sets too)....we even found potato pieces at the Character Warehouse during our last trip for super cheap!

Awe how cute!! I'll have to check that out when i go on tuesday!!

what/where is the character warehouse? :flower:

If i am understanding correctly... it is a few mins away from the park... :) i should be visiting it next week.. so ill tell you when i know where it is..:)

Thanks everyone for the info. I forgot to ask -- what types of parts do they have? Are they specific to disney characters (minnie, mickey, the princesses, etc?). My brother and his family are going in a few months and I want them to pick it up for me -- I just have to explain which parts I want!
thanks for your help . . . :yay:
I can't believe we didn't see them on our last trip! Ahhh, next time I will know better!

There are SO many parts, some we have from last year that they don't see any more and some we JUST got new this year. We JUST got
Tinkerbell wings, hair (it's HUGE), and pom pom shoes..hehehe, cute!
Ariel's hair (even BIGGER)
Ariel's fin (ENORMOUS)...I seriously think they are going big so you can't get as much in the boxes!
Glass slipper on pillow
Donald's bil (mouth)
Donalds Hat
Goofey hat (looks like the goofey hats you buy at the park)
Oh one thing new that I thought was cute is the trading pin lanyard (goes around the potatoe head neck..too cute)

Some stuff that I saw last year and this (cont.) are
Mickey shaped ice cream on a stick, Mickey shaped balloon, star wand, ticket, movie camera, autograph book, suitcase (to put in your potatoe head's hand), camera, clock, popcorn, drink, clock, Mickey Gloves

For the head:
Minnie bow, Gold Crown, Fantasia (wizard) hat, wedding veil, wedding top hat, Peter Pan hats, Mickey Ear Hats (Golden for the 50th) and black, flower visor, 2 different Donald Hats, Mickey framed glasses

Hands:
Right & Left Hands
MAKE SURE THAT YOU BUY THE CORRECT RIGHT & LEFT HANDS HERE BEC THEY ARE THE ONLY HANDS THAT WILL HOLD THE STUFF ABOVE! THE HANDS THAT YOU BUY WITH THE POTATOE HEADS AT TARGET OR WALMART WILL NOT HOLD THE ABOVE ITEMS!!

Feet:
Minnie clear shoe with painted toe nails, regular Minnie Red Shoe, Mickey Yellow Shoe

I KNOW there are more misc. pieces that I'm forgetting or didn't get! For example I bought at Target the 2 large potatoe heads and the baby head...it came with lots of eyes, tounges, shoes, glasses, etc. and those are all mixed in with our Disney stuff that work just fine :)

If you are interested in pictures just let me know I'll take some and put them up for you :)

My daughter (21) and I filled a box on our last trip just to see how much we could stuff into one. I got the pieces and she did the packing. I could not believe how much we got into one box. We didn't get the potato. The secret is to fill every available space. We got multiples of certain things if we had room. The lanyards are flat, so even after your box is full you can still slide more of those in along the sides of the box. We got tons of mickey bars, they're small and fit in spaces nothing else will fit in. We had so much fun doing that. We got it back to the hotel and dumped everything out - try as we might we could not get everything back in the box! (it doesn't take much to entertain us does it?!) We usually try to get all the new pieces and we only take Disney specific parts.

You can usually find photos on ebay. I'll try to remember to take photos of ours tonight. We have so many potato pieces they fill a large bin! :goodvibes

I also recommend asking a CM to pack up your box. There was a CM who managed to get in both the Ariel and Tink pieces along with some other hats, shoes and accessories. She was amazing.

Oh yes, photos would be fabulous! I am so excited to get this. I wish I could call and order it, but I don't think I'd be able to specify exactly what items I'd like in the box. I'll just have to wait for my brother to go and bring it back for me (as our next trip to DL is next fall -- too far away!!!).
I would love to see the pictures that you have --

I will probably find this more exciting than Fiona, I have already packed her Mr PH in the suitcase so we can play with the new bits in the room!

My husband and I collect potato heads, and currentlyhave 12 bodies and buckets of stuff - it all started with our Disney potato head we bought last March when we were engaged! We just went to DLR and got 3 full boxes. (One had a potato and was for my little sister, who loves Tinkerbell). We are crazy...
