Yes, absolutely, you can do this. We've done it in the past and will be doing it again VERY SOON!! We are spending our arrival day by doing a water park in the afternoon and then over to Magic Kindgom for evening.

Park hopping means going from one theme park to another on the same day, not from a theme park to a water park (or vice versa).

We hit the Waterpark then do magic hours at mk after hddr. It's considered a separate day even though you can still hit a park after.
