Along similar lines me and my friend got frustrated with another friend of ours who was convinced there were 5 parks in WDW.. We listed her the four parks and the water parks but she was convinced there were 5. Then we realized she thought Universal was included in that. I've had several people who haven't gone in a looong time think Universal is the same as Disney. Total newbies
or they are at a WDW Resort, get in a bus and say "is this going to WDW"
It doesn't really bother me because I realize most (not all) people who do that are not into Disney like I am, therefore these things aren't that significant to them. Kind of like I have no idea who's playing in the Super Bowl or what films/actors are nominated for Oscars which I'm sure would make a sports fan or movie buff shake his head. I couldn't care less...
And even folks who post here who I would assume are more in tune with the resort details, write things such as Cinderella's Castle (as opposed to Cinderella Castle). O'Hana's ('Ohana) and Bippity Boppity Boutique (Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique).
Heaven forbid some tourists have a minor bit of confusion/slip of the tongue about a theme park resort.
Makes sense. But if you were spending money on tickets to the Super Bowl, would you find out who was playing? Instead of just showing up? If you aren't interested you probably won't go at all.
But at WDW there are lots of people spending $$$ there that are mad they can't ride the Harry Potter ride. Seriously? These are things you have to find out before you get there.

Not really, not all people go to the level of research as others. Some people really do just show up at a theme park, grab a map and go. Some people are even ok with finding out they are at the "wrong" park, but still manage to enjoy themselves![]()
My problem is the ones who think they know...like my example of hopping to the Poly pool. Not really, not all people go to the level of research as others. Seriously, is there any city you would vacation in and then just show up at a hotel you are not staying at and use the pool?

My problem is that she positioned herself as the "expert" because she has been multiple times. She just assumed policies that aren't correct and was then telling other people about it.A city, no but I could see how some would assume that if they are staying at a WDW resort they could use the pools at all the resorts. And who knows, maybe they were told things by "experts". Everyone's research level is different. I've been to many places where I didn't do research other than the hotel and a few things to do, but I'm definitely a go with the flow vacationer.
I don't hold it against people for being wrong, I've been going to WDW for years and I still get things wrong.
Of course if someone is going to be witchy about knowing it all when they don't, I could see the issue.
