DH seems to remember hearing that Disney bought the rights recently to Sesame Street characters. We know they already have The Muppets. We are wondering about Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, etc. He admits he may be thinking of something else. So, we figured we'd ask the experts. Does anyone know if this is true, could we in the near future see Ernie walking the streets of MGM?
Thanks.

I'm about 99% sure that Disney does not own the SS charactors. There is some kind of devision betwwen the Muppets franchise & SS and Disney just recently purchased the Muppets from the Henson family.

PS: This thread will probably wind up over at R&N board.

I saw a Beaches Resort commerical this morning and they stated that the SS characters now "reside" at their resort. I saw Elmo & Cookie Monster at what looked like a character meal. I wonder how that can be?
