We took the WBPC ending last month. My cc was down for charges on two staterooms, however some of the charges my son was responsible for. He went to guest services on the 10th and 12th May and requested that these were charged to him and handed over all his cc details. They agreed to do this but didn't do it.
Once home after the cruise DS rang DCL and the accounts department. They said they would look into it and get back to him. They didn't. He emailed them and received an apology and the promise that this would be actioned. To date it hasn't been. Yesterday I had to pay my cc balance which included the additional $1100 which I wasn't anticipating.
Anyone know how long these things take to get sorted?

Were the charges actually charged to your son's CC? Do the charges show up on his statement? If not, then you should just settle up with your son and have him pay you directly. To me that would be the quickest resolution.

These were my sons charges billed to my CC. He lives in Canada and I live in the UK. I already paid a processing fee from US$ to GBP. If he wants to transfer this amount of money to me there will be another hefty conversion and handling charge. That's what he was trying to avoid by asking for these charges to be billed to him.

They were supposed to charge his CC but didn't they charged mine instead. DCL have now said that they will refund me and charge my son's CC which is what they should have done in the first place, but so far we are still waiting.

Now that's a horse of a different color!!!

This won't help now, but before leaving the ship and reviewing the folio for the rooms, don't leave the guest services desk until it is completed. I had an issue with magical express and they kept saying it will get done...1 day, 2 days, 3 days....no resolution. I went to the desk and stood there until they fixed it...took them a grand total of 3 minutes to fix it.

I actually think that I might still contact Amex and tell them that although I've paid this if a refund isn't forthcoming fairly soon I will be disputing the charges. I guess it can't do any harm. They can only say no can do, and agreed had we known that GS had incorrectly billed me we should have stayed put at their desk.

sometimes you think it's done and it's not though - especially with credit card charges.

I paid for our Magic 2010 cruise for my parents and I. I had my credit card attached for our onboard spending. Halfway through the cruise, my parents (who had done a bit of shopping onboard) decided that they'd surprise me and have the onboard spending put on their credit card instead. They went to guest services who told them, "No problem. All done! Have a magical cruise." Except it wasn't done and at the end of the cruise it was still billed to me. When the final bill was delivered at it showed "charged to VISA ending in 4001" my dad was deflated. It was then they told me what they'd tried to do. Because we're Canadian, it wasn't worth going to guest services on the last morning (and standing in a very long line) and having the charge reversed because my card would have charged 2.5% exchange (on that card I paid it for stuff that was charged but there was no fee for refunds).

I cancelled a CRT ressie in February that was for March. Since its prepaid, I checked to see it credited to my card. After a few days it wasn't so I called and they said the refund was in there system, but it takes them about 2 billing cycles to through. It did come through in May, but it really is frustrating that refunds take so long at Disney.

Last year on the Fantasy, our assistant server accidentally put a bottle of wine on my account one night. I realized it the last morning just before breakfast. I went to GS who assured me it would be taken care of immediately. Needless to say it was still on out credit card when the statement came. Several calls and almost 8 weeks later the charges were reversed.

I'm sure DCL will take care of it, but they aren't nearly as fast at refunding your money as they are at taking it.

What I would say is, the refund will be at the exchange rate at the point when they process it so may or may not be the amount you are actually charged (joys of being in a non-US country). Just something to bear in mind. Disney should however be able to action this so as same contact them and get them to sort it

Are you sure your son is being honest with you that he gave them his credit card, and that his card had enough funds available to cover the charges? If your son was going to cover his own, why did you give your card in the first place? I have a suspicion that this may be more the fault of the son than the cruise line, since they never charged your son's card.

That's wasn't nice, I don't see how it is productive or kind insinuating her son was acting dishonest or sneaky towards his parents. It was a mix up, it sucks. Poopy way to end the cruise but if I was waiting on a $1000. Refund on my Credit card, I'd ask innocently enough too.. Hey does anyone know how long this takes?....

It may not be Disney, it has been reported here that some Credit Cards are the 2 mouth hold u Within thier systems. I KNOW Master Bank card told me that as well.

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I asked Guest Services to change my CC details once on board (wanted to change cards from the one I'd originally given when doing online check-in) and the assistant said it was tricky to do. When I explained that the one on file was due to expire soon and I wanted to add my new card instead, she sorted it out in 5 minutes at the desk.

They can only say no can do, and agreed had we known that GS had incorrectly billed me we should have stayed put at their desk.

That's why I always check our final copy of the bill before we leave the ship. It's much easier to sort out there and then before disembarking rather than trying to get it sorted from the UK.
