Disney outlet stores and gift cards?

Do the Disney Character Warehouse stores accept Disney gift cards? I'm guessing they are not actual Disney Stores and do NOT, but I thought I'd ask.

We are planning to visit in January, and DDs are asking for gift cards for Christmas and birthday before then. I guess we could just "buy" a couple cards from them and use them for our meals, but they are very excited about making their own purchases. I want to prepare them, or maybe just give some cash instead of all GCs.

And while we're at it, does anyone have opinions about the "best" Disney outlet? This is our first time with a rental car, so we've never been able to get there before. Thanks!

If your talking about the 2 in the Premium Outlets- they are "Disney" stores and do take Disney Gift Cards.
The one at the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores is not affiliated with Disney.
