Anybody think there might be cruises sailing out of L.A in 2015? Missed out on the 2012 one and nothing for 2013 or 2014 :( Wish they would redo.

I'd like to hope so. But I'm afraid, that the only west coast sailing they will do would be the PC repo to San Diego (cheaper than LA) and the repo from San Diego to Vancouver at the beginning of the Alaska season and reverse at the end. Of course, I have no definite word that this is what's going to happen, just my fear.

I'd love another Hawaii cruise, and a few west coast cruises (LA/SF/Seattle/Vancouver would be nice).

The issue with LA and Galveston is Disney doesn't give it enough time for the locals to figure out they want to go on a Disney Cruise. By the time they are there and advertise it takes your average family time to save up or procure funds for a cruise. Plus a lot of people decide what to do by word of mouth. By the time people get back saying what an amazing time it was they have already decided to pull out.

We are from Cali but now live in Texas and when we told people from both locations that we were going on a Disney cruise they were floored that the cruise was leaving from LA or Galveston (we did both) and thought you still had to go to FL for a Disney Cruise.

Sure they get people on the boat but they don't give it enough time to have some demand. I can understand watching your bottom line but whenever you move a business to a new area it takes time to build a positive image in that location. To me 1 or 2 seasons isn't enough. I know people here in the Austin area that are now talking about Disney cruising out of Galveston and are considering taking a cruise with them next year. I have to inform them that they won't be here next year.

We were on the first ever DCL repo fro L.A to Vancouver. It was so fun! When we went it was a 6 nighter. I thought I saw it available this year but a 5 nighter. If DCL keeps doing Alaska, there will be one north bound and one south bound. We had 2 nights in San Fran but now I think you only get one. We have only cruised 3 times but this was by far the best one yet.

I too think that DCL doesn't put enough time or money into advertising the new ports. I loved the Pixar cruise I did last year out of Los Angeles with the overnight in San Francisco. It let me be a tourist in my home town, but they did 4 of those and then no more. I don't think they even overnighted in San Francisco on the repositioning cruises this year. Yes, they have a big fan base in Florida, but put some time into establishing a fan base out here on the West Coast.

In 2014 there are 3 cruises out of San Diego and 1 from LA, but most are repositioning. I think they may have tested various markets to get the DCL name out there. I know there have been many discounts for the Miami and Galveston itineraries. Many of us are disappointed they also tried NY for a short while. We've got our fingers crossed that they'll come back here, as many new ships use NY as their port now.

Even though my family took advantage of having a DCL ship here on the west coast, DCL really dropped the ball on marketing. I don't ever even recall seeing any advertisement for DCL while they were cruising the Mexican Riviera.

I agree that the marketing really needed to better. However there was some minimal advertising. This billboard was in Orange county, I took the picture in October of 2010.

I read that there were others elsewhere in the state. And the generic Disney commercial for cruises had a voice over that included "now sailing from Los Angeles", but the advertising was pretty little.

I would be ecstatic if they brought the Wonder back to LA! We are in western Canada and LA/Disneyland is a much easier and cheaper vacation. We cruised both years DCL was in LA and would do the same itinerary every single year if possible. It is beautiful.

I would love a West Coast cruises. It is a lot closer than east coast for us. I think we were very lucky to get the first repo at the price we did. If there were 2 days in San Fran I would have no problem doing that cruise again.

Would love it if it happened. I am not a fan of the Dream and Fantasy itineraries. I would much rather visit ports on the West Coast. And would absolutely do a Hawaii cruise if it happened (and send the boys to school on the day we are on O'ahu!)

Well said!

We've done two repositioning cruises on the Wonder ( LA to Vancouver May 2012 and Vancouver to LA Sept 2013) and loved them both. West Coast cruising is so much more economical. Just wish I would of been able to do the Mexican Riviera.

West coast is our only hope of traveling Disney in 2015. We need to be able to drive from Phoenix. I am not holding my breath, but I really have my fingers crossed. A repo cruise would never work out, we'd need a solid loop. 2014 is already a DCL dry year for us because of the lack of WC itinerary. My advice to all you other WC dreamers is to make yourselves heard!!! Leave it on your comment cards, write letters, phone it in. Strength in numbers!!!

I would hope that Disney will continue to cruise out of LA unless of course Disney decides to try other locations such as Asia. I don't think Disney will keep three of her ships on the east coast (considering that that Magic continues to cruise in Europe). Since I am on the west coast and not too far from the port cruising out of LA is extremely convenient.

Lots of threads with rumors about 2015. Only fact today is the Wonder is the only ship that can cross the Panama canal until the locks are completed.

Now, the strongest rumors are DCL is in talks with NOLA, New York and Quebec. Also, PC still makes lots of money with Dream and Fantasy and these will not change for quite some time.

Alaska and Med sell so more than likely they'll continue to go there. Galveston and MIA don't sell that well and hence why they'll be moving out of there.

I really wish they come back to LA. Especially with the Hawaii cruise! Even Mexican Riviera would be ok i guess. I want to cruise only on Disney but to have to fly and then pay for cruise becomes too expensive! Wish they reintroduce cruises out of LA for 2015. We are already booked on the Alaskan cruise for 2014 so atleast something to look forward to :)

I wish they would too, but I don't think it is going to happen.

I would love for Disney Cruise to come back to the West Coast and sail out of either San Diego or LA. Some spring break Mexican Riviera cruises would be great. I know DCL sails to Alaska in the summer but I would love to see an early summer or perhaps a holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) cruise to Hawaii.

We went on a Mexican Riviera cruise in 2012 and we absolutely loved it. We also went on the California Coastal Pixar cruise and it was great as well. We were so sad when DCL left LA.
