Disney Ornaments/Disney Christmas Trees

We use an artificial trees because I am allergic to christmas trees. Long story short, we need a new artificial tree and ornaments, ours were destroyed. We had the original idea, that since we would be going to Disney for our Christmas (and that we LOOOOVVVEEE Disney! )that we would buy our Christmas ornaments and decorations at Disney as our souveniers (mine and Dh's).

Do any of you have favorite ornaments, trees, and or other Christmas decorations that you care to share, and if possible, share pics?

I know it is only the middle of June, however, I need something to tide me over until we leave on Dec. 5th.

The Christmas store at DTD is going to be your main spot to get your Christmas ornaments. The place is HUGE!

Dd and I are going for a short trip next month and dh made me promise (and made dd promise to keep an eye on me) to NOT go to DTD because he's afraid I'll buy out the store again.

I both Christmas and Disney so it is like heaven for me!

Here is the tree in my DD's room - both DDs had some money to buy stuff with and we went to the Disney outlet store so they could spend it on whatever they wanted to. My older DD bought a bunch of little stuff. My younger one (7 yo at the time) picked the tree topper and that took up all her money. There was no swaying her to get something less expensive or something she could play with. It HAD to be the Tink tree topper!

Do you recall where you got that one? I had a couple of gold and silver "sprongie" ones like that, they where diamond instead of Mickey-shaped. I would like to get a couple of these Mickey ones. Thank you for sharing.

Addicted to Christmas Trees, put up 2 formal 71/2 foot trees each year and DH has 6 foot Tigger Tree in his office. We usually get one or two ornaments for each tree. Be sure you go the MVMCP because they will have party ornaments only available during the party, they are only out during Party hours. I get mine at POTC gift shop when we come off the ride. Also if you want something personalized at the Christmas Stores in MK or DTD then go the first or second night you are there to make sure it is finished before the trip home. You can also pay to have it shipped to you. I pre-paid for shipping and it never got to me so we had to make several phone calls but alas it finally arrived. Love all my ornaments and finally have DH in the mood for them after 14 years of working on him. Enjoy your trip. We are arriving 12/5 too!!!

I don't know if WDW does this; but at DLR there is a thing called "Guest Services." They will deliver a decorated tree to your hotel room. When you leave they will pack it up an have it delivered to your home. It is very pricey but great looking.

I know you will be at WDW not near Christmas. So the Christmas Shop would be your best bet.

I wish I could remember, but I have no idea where I got it! Well, I would guess it was somewhere on Main Street - if I had to guess.

I remember seeing a long clear tube of beautiful jewel colored Mickey head ornaments - about 12 in the set with a gold thread of sparkle wrapped around them, I think. They were way more than I could spend, but a few months later, I found the same tube o'ornaments at the roving Disney Outlet store, but for much less. So, or course, I got them!

We get a Christmas ornament from every vacation we take, especially WDW. It's a wonderful way to remember each vacation again every year as you get ornaments out.

It looks like you are staying at ASMo? I recommend if you are staying anywhere onsite that you find out if you can get an ornament of your resort. The first year we went, 2003, They had Port Orleans ornaments but I didn't get one- got a 100 years of magic one instead. I was really kicking myself for not getting the resort ornament, too, and I couldn't find another one on any of our 4 trips back to P.O. since then. Finally, this January, I found one at the DTD Christmas store. I can't remember if they had all the resorts or just some. But it will be a special reminder of this trip in particular, wherever you stay, if you can find it.

We have a tree that used to be all Disney, but we've added other kids type ornaments. We probably have around 50 of so ornanents, all collected at WDW. The majority are stained-glass style, a few ceramic and 8 or so glass balls. We make sure we buy ones with dates. One of our favorites is one of our first, dated 1988. It's Minnie Mouse in an angel costume with a star wand. We always put that at the top - as if she's lighting the star on the tree.

We have Mickey & Minnie sledding, a couple of Santa Mickey's, Figment in a Santa cap (another fave), a BIG Chip & Dale in a wreath, I could go on and on. Our glass balls include a 20th and 25th anniversary WDW, and a couple of Epcots, including a 15th anniversary. We even found some movie based ones, which were rare 15-20 years ago.

The ornaments were the BEST souvenirs we've ever bought. We have so many memories and every year when we decorate, we can remember the fun times at WDW, and the specific trip when we got the ornaments. We've been lucky because we used to go in January and February every year, so we got a lot of bargains. In those days, the Christmas store was pretty small at the Disney Village. They probably don't have sales any more!

I recommend the ornaments. They will last forever, and you'll be able to give them to your children some day - the memories will last throughout generations.
