Disney or Universal?

i love disney dont get me wrong but universal is better :teeth: they have better rides
i <3 roller coasters still haven't gotten to go on kingda ka yet :sad1: i waited on line for hours and they closed it for the day right before i got to go on!!! im still determined!

Disney!!!!! I've been to universal and I was bored after about two rides. I'm not that bigon the whole roller coaster upside down thing. I the good ol' themed rides with stories I know, love, and can laugh at.

Well last year my kids were adamant that we do Unversal and IOA instead of Disney. We also went to Sea World for me and DH. We can't go back until next year and they're already saying Universal parks. Everyone is different.

not to be rude but, what do you expect on the

DIS BOARDS

DISNEY FOR SURE

HOW INSULTING! WDW ALL THE WAY!!!

Am I the only one who gets defensive about WDW when people are on their vacation and go "Well we went to Universal yesterday..."

See, my family is amazingly abnormal...like in a good way...we don't leave Disney property then entire time we're there unless it's for food (Olive Garden one night, TGIF's the other...not THIS time tho, cuz of the Disney Dining Plan)... or Walgreens to get necessary supplies (which we also didn't have to do this trip!!!)

I get irked, like they're saying Universal is the calibur of Disney or better...which of course they're not saying at all...all they are saying is where they were located the day before...but still...Am I the only one who gets like this?

Nope im the same way...

and ur on i disney board asking this question!?!

WDW ALL THE WAY!!!!

Disney! I always say you can't go to Florida and not visit WDW!

My family is just like Ash's family; it's Disney or nothing. The only time we leave WDW is to leave for the airport. :thumbsup2

Has anyone seen the Universal commercial where a little girl (prob. 8 or so) says defiantly, "If I have to hug one more princess, I'm gonna hurl!" I was extremely insulted by this! First of all, most eight year old girls love the princesses, and why wouldn't they want to hug them? And second, I hate how the commercial is just implying that it's talking about WDW...why can' they just come out and say it? Grrr....that makes me angry!

I saw that commercial and it made me so mad! :furious: :furious: :furious: It insulted Disney and it offended me.

i hate it as well.

Universal was like.. extremely boring.
Unlike Disney, you couldn't link anything of characters to anything. They weren't anything special. There was no Cinderella's to say that you watched it a thousand times when you were little. There was stuff like Dudley Do-Rights Ripsaw Falls. guess what? i'm probably the only person in the world who has actually seen that movie. and why? because the guy who was in Dudley Do-Right was in Disney's George Of The Jungle. i mean, i hated most of the stuff, because it was either a theatre show, a boring ride, or a fast ride i wouldn't get on. and most of Universals parks are restaurants and shops. it wasn't hard to find one.

the only reason we went was because we had a week before we went to Disney to do shopping and Universal. & even when we were supposed to be waiting till we went to our resort to go to Disney, we got tempted in and went to Downtown Disney.

Yeah, we never leave WDW property. When we are there, we are there to live the magic of it all...leaving grounds would alter that experience. :p

So you've never seen ET or read any Dr. Seuss books? I know that I wasn't that into Disney when I was little. The only movies I liked were The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast. But I was OBSESSED with ET! My little cousins are all the same way, and LOVED getting to see ET, while they had no interest in Cinderella :confused3 It all depends on the person.

I actually hate ET. I've never seen the movie (insert gasp here by whoever reads this). He scares the crap outta me, and I certainly don't want to see it now. No plan to. As for Doctor Seuss, I wasn't that into it. I walked through that Suessland, and it meant nothing to me.
most of the movies I have are Disney. My friends won't watch movies at my house because all I've got is Disney from years ago. I have a Disney treasury of stories, I had the 101 Dalmation books with the Disney illustrations, stuffed Dalmations..
Universal didn't have anything there that I grew up on other than Barney, and I out grew that at the age of 4.

You may not have grown up on it, but there's nothing there that you like now? You don't like Jurassic Park, Jaws, The Mummy, I Love Lucy, Spongebob, Shrek, Men In Black, The Terminator, Back to the Future, Twisteror Spiderman? That's fine if you don't like Universal, it's not for everyone. But there wasn't ONE thing you liked?!

The only things on those that I've actually seen, are Spongebob (very annoying), Shrek (an okay movie, okay ride), and Back To The Future (didn't go on the ride, I only like one part of the movies).

it's just not as meaningful as Disney, and Disney has been doing stuff forever with cartoons, Universal used to do old black & white real people films that were more geared towards adults.

I like Universal :goodvibes I like the rides there :teeth: I love Disney too though :wizard:

You're right , you cant go to florida without visiting disneyworld but i couldnt not visit islands of adventure , sorry !

think about it , there is the hulk , duelling dragons ! mybe thats just me !

i know that mgm has r'n'rc and tot but thats why i said you merely have to go for both!again , maybe thats just me , im a thrill seeker lol !

i love universal and its not for everyone but i know , when you think about it , although it has only two parks , universal is geared more towards teenagers than kiddies ! and thats why i love it so much ! :D

I'm definately a thrill person...but still I like Disney waaaay more than Universal. If I wanted thrill rides I could travel a half an hour to Six Flags.

And Disney World was made with the idea of families in mind...not kiddies.
