Disney or Universal? what to do?

We are going to disney for 6 days in sept and were gonna do 2 days at universal before we checked in to disney staying at the hard rock. We have 2 boys 10 and 2 and I know are 10 year old will love universal as we have been before, but I 'm not so sure about the 2 year old
So my question is should we scrap uv and just ad 2 more days to disney or do you think are 2 year old would be fine with it? I'm just thinking there's alot more at disney for our 2 year old to do, and some of the recent reviews of uv are getting me concerned. they have not been very good.

Your 2 yrd old will LOVE Suess Landing and they also have Barney, ET at US
We did our first Barney show last month and it was really cute, my DS5 loved it.
But be warned, if you do US/IOA first and have the FOTL access with no lines and THEN go to Disney and have to wait in lines- that's a killer
We alsways do Disney first, then Universal

We took our 18 month old and 3 year old in May and they loved it. There was lots to keep them busy and as well as the rides the character interactions are good especially if they like the Dr Seuss books - it might be worth reading him some of the cat in the hat books before hand also he will love seeing barney and Shrek , Dora and all the other characters without the longer lines that you get at Disney. Also there are the two play areas where they can cool down.

If it were me, I'd do one or the other, not both.

There is SO MUCH to see at Disney! Also, packing up and moving to another resort is a little bit of work with kids. I like to settle into one place if possible. You'll also find with ticket prices, you pay less per day the longer you are staying.

The 2 year old will have fun no matter where you are, but yes, Disney probably does have more. Honestly, my kids really don't remember their first trips to Disney (but I do and it was fun!).

That is a big truth. We are also doing 2 days at Universal first and then Disney, and I wish that I had reversed them. The big Universal resort beds and FOTL are actually going to make Disney slightly less magical, but we shall overcome.

They are plenty of 2 year-old theming..

I always find it sad when people's Universal reports make people not want to go to Universal. Universal is a great place, especially when you stay onsite. It is absolutely wonderful for families since you can go at your own pace, doing things as you please and not having to wait in lines with little kids. You'll be able to enjoy the hotel and the pool as well as all the great kids activities. There isn't a lot more to do at Disney that a two year old would enjoy. Universal has great play areas and non-ride attractions that little ones love.

OP - everybody has an opinion...some are in the majority, others are minority opinions .

When reading reviews here, i tend to look both @ the poster's time on the boards & whether their account is excessively critical, with no redeeming comments. IMO, a first timer's account could easily be different from a repeat visitor who has done the research to try & make their trip personally enjoyable.

for factual advice, i'd suggest reading a professional assessment of the rides/offerings for all ages, Kelly Monaghans book is a good place to start...even the WDW UG has brief coverage
