Disney or beach? decide tonight!!

In such a dilemma. I just booked with free dining from December 4th-december 11th, 8 days tickets, upgraded to regular dining and staying at all star sports(only value left and moderate were all booked). The total for3 people is 2281.46. I was just on booking.com and looking at hotels in clearwater or Naples and there are some very good deals out there. Could get a hotel for the week for 700 or less with decent reviews. So I need to take car rental into consideration, food(which will not be elaborate meals every night) some activities but mainly walking along beach, fishing etc. What to do?? Southwest far sale end tonight ..both are the same 98.00 each way. Help me please!!

December for Disney or October for beach. Ugh.... We never get to the beach but I love Disney!! don't want to do both in one trip . Either Disney for Christmas Theme or Warm beach in October. Never been during Christmas but beach will be cheaper

We stayed at Pop last November and paying for the upgrade to regular dining was totally worth it to us! Especially since most of our TS were $100 for us.

I like QSD plan. Sometimes the TS is just too much food. Actually, for me it always is, but sometimes I want to go to Boma or a nicer place than QSD.

Hard to get an unbiased opinion on the Disney board. I'd say Disney in Oct or Dec. lol! It depends on if you have kids, too. Clearwater is very nice, but I like it for a weekend. You could still drive over to Disney and go to the Halloween party. Clearwater is an hour, maybe hour and a half a way. You can split your time and do both, they aren't mutually exclusive.

My understanding is that the food court is shut down for refurb during that time frame - will make dining a real hassle

Take the money out of the equation. Which one are you in the mood for? When I want a nice beach vacation, Disney is not a substitute. Two different animals.

Ditto! A different time of year I would have said beach, but for December stick with Disney!!!

You were making the decision last night, so my opinion is moot. But, I also say go Disney! If it saves you a considerable amount (like $75 or so per day), then eliminate the upgrade to regular DP (though I too think having TS each day is so worth it). Disney all decked out for Christmas is a must see...at least once. And the week you'll be going isn't crazy crowded like Xmas week itself.

In December...Disney! I like it HOT for the beach. We did a split trip this month with Clearwater and Disney! Found a great little place on Clearwater and had fun, but 5 days wasn't enough at Disney! Thankfully it rained a few days so the crowds thinned down.

The weather might not be beachy for Clearwater. I say Disney with QSP.

Beach is to iffy in terms of weather that time of year. Plus WDW has Christmas decorations !

I love Naples but I agree in December I would pick Disney. We went to Naples in December a few times and had to buy pants and sweaters.
