We are going to apply for a credit card and have looked into both Disney and AAA... does anyone have comments or suggestions on either? Also ~ can someone with a Disney Visa post the telephone # listed on your statement so that I can call for information? That would be very helpful!!! TIA! :flower:

The CS number is 1-800-300-8575. I have the card and am not that thrilled by it. If you don't carry a balance I guess it would be great, but there are cards out there with better rewards. I've never been overly impressed with the special offers that come with having the card. Usually the discounts offered can be beaten elsewhere or are hard to get (never got $50 shipboard credit on my cruise).

I think it all depends on what you want out of a rewards credit card. Disney VISA offers 1% back in the form of Disney Dream Dollars that can only be spent at Disney. AAA's VISA Diamond Advantage card offers 3% back on gas purchases and 1 point per dollar on all other purchases. At 5,000 points, the AAA VISA sends you a voucher for $50 towards anything that AAA offers.

Neither one has an annual fee. Disney VISA sign up bonuses of 50 Dream Dollars can be found on the internet if you do a search. AAA offers a $15 credit to your bill.

With the Disney VISA, you will be dealing with Chase. The AAA VISA is administered by MBNA.

The AAA VISA has an interest rate of 7.9% or 13.9% depending on your credit score. The Disney VISA is 12.49% or 17.49%. If you carry a balance at all this could be the deciding factor.

I have the Disney VISA, too. Like dkostel, I'm relatively unimpressed with the so-called offers that I've gotten from them. I have seen a couple of sneak previews of movies and did take advantage of the 6 months at 0% interest for a DCL cruise. I also purchased the Tarzan tickets ahead of the crowd thru the Disney VISA email offer. Other than that, not much. I guess we'll go to the character meet and greet at EPCOT next summer just to get the free photo. And you do get a discount on purchases over $25 at WoD in DtD.

In all, it will depend on what you want to get from a rewards card. If those Disney Dream Dollars are not something that you're going to use after your next WDW trip, then I would say to go for the AAA card.

Well, for someone who LOVES all things Disney I just had to have it and when they offered 50 Reward Dollars for signing up I went for it.

I've got $287 in Reward Dollars so far. I have seen 6 free Disney movies with my Disney Visa (Brother Bear, Hefelumps, Princess Diaries 2, National Treasure, Valiant, and Haunted Mansion and hopefully, Chicken Little).

This past trip in Sept/Oct I got 10% off at the World of Disney store. I got one free 5x7 photo with PhotoPass at the Visa Meet and Greet at Epcot. I've used the discounts offered for purchases at www.disneyshopping.com.

I'm hoping that when I book my DCL cruise next year I'll get the $50 onboard credit!

I just LOVE it!

thanks to everyone for your replies! I'm still researching both... but wondering if it would benefit us to get the Disney Visa..... we booked a Disney Vacation from Feb 28th-March 11th 2006 (four days at CBR and then the 7 night Eastern Magic Cruise) :cool1: Will it benefit us in any way to use a Disney Visa during our stay? :flower:
