Hi I need a little help, I reserved a room at the GC for the 24-29th of June does anyone know are there any perks for staying on site? Like early entry or anything? Last time I went I booked the whole package through AAA and this time I doing it seperately so trying to find out how to get the most perks if any? What about if I buy DL park hopper bonus tickets through AAA Any perks any help I would love it thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

Aside from the lanyard, luggage tags and Diamond Card, you are not missing anything. You still get early admission when you stay on property. The Grand Californian is awsome. You will love it.

Do you think the crowds will be to bad? Do you think that as long as we are hitting the parks Mon. - Wed. and if we do go early we will be ok. We have been before so some of the parades and shows we don't need to see again.

I will be there the same week and am expecting it to be like mid-summer crowds because of the opening of the Nemo Sub ride earlier in June. So yes, get to the parks early and get a lot done in the first few hours, collect some Fastpasses, and you will be good. And use Early Entry every day you can.

The best perk that we enjoy is that anything we buy (aside from food items) within the park can be delivered back to your resort hotel at no charge the next morning. Of course early entry every day it is offered is another great perk!

Early entry is offered with certain packages. We booked through Costco, stayed at the Grand Cali and had three day hoppers.
We found the best perk about the Grand Cali to be the private entrance right into DCA. It is also only a 5 minute walk from the door to the entrance at DL. It is so convenient!
The Grand Cali has different programs offered each day at the hotel-tours, treasure hunts, power walking, private shopping time at Build a Bear. Each night they leave a shedule in your room with the next's days events.
The Grand Cali is beautiful...you will LOVE it

Private time at build a bear? I have never heard of that...when does it occur? My girls will love it!

I've also heard, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that at DL you can pool hop to the "less expensive" resorts. That is to say, since you are staying at GC you can swim at DLH and PP. I was at DLH earlier this month and the pool is lovely, we also went near the pool at PP to watch the fireworks and that pool looked really nice too. This may be a rumor, as I know pool hopping is not allowed at WDW.

I just wanted to mention that you will miss getting the Toontown Morning Madness passes by purchasing the vacation separately. If you haven't been, it is an awsome hour of fun in Toontown - a parade, confetti, and no lines for characters or rides. I priced packages through AAA and the Disneyland website and AAA was $64 cheaper if that helps. You also get the pins (great for pin trading), lanyards (itchy on the neck), luggage tags (full of pixie dust), passes for premium seats at Aladdin and such, discount coupons for DTD, and a magical coin (this is new) when you book the package. I found it too hard to pass up.

GCH is really good about helping you get a PS at certain restaurants. They got me into Blue Bayou with 1 day notice. DLH and PP don't offer this concierge service unless you pay for concierge level rooms.

Regarding the pools, I was told by hotel staff that they only allow pool hopping if one of the hotel pools is out of commission in any way. The slide was under renovation at GCH so we could go over to the DLH (really cool!) even though the pool itself was in working order.

Where Did You Find That Aaa Still Had Packages Avail. For Staying At The Gc. I Couldn't Find Any I Have A Package Through Alaska Air?

The Grand Cali offered a private session at Build-A_Bear one of the mornings we were there last week. It was on the schedule mousekeeping leaves in your room the night before. You have to pre-register and you had to make a minimum $10 purchase. It was early in the morning, before the store officially opens. As it conflicted with our character breakfast, we weren't able to do it.
We did go into the store later in the day. In addition to the regular Build A Bear stuffed animals, they had Mickeys, Minnies and Poon Bears.

When I was pricing packages at Paradise Pier, I checked out the hotel sites thoroughly, and they stated that PP and DLH could go back and forth with pools. I don't, however, know how that affects GC.

I've also learned here that when you stay at a DL resort hotel, you get Early Entry on any day it is offered. I've learned that it's not advertised, so if one books a package they just think it's an extra, but it's actually for anyone staying at one of the DL hotels.

Awhile back, that was the pool hopping rule at Disneyland onsite hotels. Now as another poster stated, no pool hopping at all for anyone (including DVC) at DLR oniste hotels unless your hotel's pool is closed for rehab. All three hotels have nice pools and slides so there isn't much reason to hop really. Each pool is enclosed and can only be accessed with a valid room key from that particular hotel.

Where did you see this stated? Is it on a website somewhere? I would love to hop over to the DLH pool. We had so much fun there with the DJ and hoola hoop activities.
